james goforth wrote i finally got around to checking things out on my dogkota. some observations 8------- have you had the exhaust backpressure checked a clogged catalytic converter can give you somewhat normal performance at low engine speed but really hold things back at higher rpms. .

max340 wrote rubbish. the difference is much more likely due to ring diameter than to actual planned differnces particularly at the .01 amount you mention. btw the rear axle in your theory would be the 3.54 while the front would be 3.55. the front axle would turn more for your theory to be proven. through the 70s i owned quite a few jeeps mostly wagoneers. all of them had different ratios between the front and rear diffs. i do not recall exactly what the ratios were but seems to me the difference was greater than .01. the owners manual had warnings about driving in 4wd on dry pavement as serious damage may occur. i do not claim to know why jeep did this but i can confirm they did. .

you will not like it if you take it in for drivability problems to the dealer either. the dealer has to call their technical assistance to get a injection pump ordered. the first question theu ask is is the fuel the correct fuel for the truck if you use offroad diesel it will void the warranty on the enigine and fuel system. why would off-road fuel void the warranty as far as i can tell the warranty does not specify road use. the only difference in off-road fuel is the dye put in it and that it is not taxed. .
