Multi-Displacement System on 2006 Ram Hemi?

From : martin

Q: id appreciate some insight from anyone in the know about this engine. how do they deactivate the four non-contributing cylinders is it always the same four or do they shift it around in order to spread the wear when does the deactivation occur can the feature be manually locked out any known issues yet the system works with special lifters that can be disengaged thereby isolating the intake and exhaust valves in four of the cylinders the same four - #1 #4 #6 and #7 which are 1st 3rd 5th and 7th in the firing order of 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. the engine controller also shuts off spark and fuel to the cylinders making them completely dead. the engine switches from 4 to 8-cylinder mode based on engine load... its something thats calculated automatically and you wont notice when its happening. basically during deceleration idle cruise or light acceleration - youll be in 4-cylinder mode. mash the throttle and youll get all 8. .

hi everyone. my first post. a few days ago my 4 year old son was playing with some buttons on my old caravan. he got scared when the emergency blinkers started blinking. now im not sure this is not justa coincidence but ever since that incident and i dont know what all else he was pressing or how he was pressing ive had a strange problem with my lighting system. when i put the headlights on and slide the dimmer slider just a tad to the right the interior lights come on and stay on. if i press the switch for the interior lights whilst the headlights are on the headlinghts will shut off but the interior lights will stay on. if i turn the headlights on and push the dimmer to the extreme left i can only get a faint glow from my gauges but the interior lights remain off. in other words the interior lights always want to be on when the headlights are on. the hazard lights work normally it seems. it is very frustrating. i think my only option is to take out the light bulbs in the dome lights for night driving. am i being somewhat clear with my description can anyone adivse many thanks. g .

memory standby power lost what does it mean it means your battery was disconnected sometime in the last 50 ignition cycles. .

first your price is off. read the ad. it would seem to me that the price on the ad was after a $2000 down payment. secondly the prices seem a bit strong either way imo. but i have not looked at the truck. -- i dont interpret the ad that way. i interpret it as saying the price is only good if you put at least 2k down or have a trade. in other words they wont do $100% financing on that price. thats not so unusual lots of places wont go 100% on used cars. .

budd i can not judge anyone as i do not hold the natural or super natural abilities to do so. however i know you have done nothing more then that is the past and i have never said anything to you about it. there is a huge difference for some one to make a statement such as oh god not again and a statement such as youre beliefs are wrong there for you are going to burn in hell as long as you continue to blame me for what is different between faiths then this will all continue for all i did was state what the bible says or what is the difference between denominations that make some christian some christian pretenders and some outright cults. if you dont like it then its your problem. take it up with god. i dont want to hear it. had he said something like the later i would have said the same to him as has been said to you. no more no less you i doubt no correction i know you will not believe that. from what you have called me from how you refused to accept my side and probably still refuse it what the heck do you expect me to believe out of you take some responsibility yourself larry. cya. budd -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com .
