More power and mielage, impressed.

Q: hi guys just a follow up to the booming edelbrock muffler. at the same time i installed it i also tossed in the accel truck tune up kit of new plugs wires cap and rotor also did air and oil filter and oil change. first in 3 years and 20000 miles. g i had bought the truck used at 64k miles and the plugs that came out were bosche platinum with gaps burned to about 0.040 gap. plug leads looked ok as did cap and rotor but since i had them in the kit i tossed them in. started it up and all went fine. had to drive to a small town about 50 miles away next day. leaving the plateau i set cruise for 70mph. during the entire hilly trip the trans did not kick down going up any of the hills. four in particular used to be a press the button and lock out od but this time flew all the way there in locked od. same trip today with more stuff in the truck and same result. i am impressed. the temp gauge is showing about 5 or so deg cooler and the gas tank is far from empty so i cant check mileage at this point but it looks like it has improved. i had my knock-avenger with me today and he reported no knock at any time. hate to say it but the booming edelbrock really nice sound outside seems to actually do as claimed and give a few horses back. damn thats $200+gas i have spent on this truck in 3 years. can i afford this vbg -- kind regards jenny and her tribe of survivors. .
