dry gas is just alcohol and if you follow the directions it should cause no harm. its purpose is to absorb the water in the fuel which can do more harm especially on cold days. another thing i would do is read the owners manual. if any of the engines components can be damaged by it it should be listed in the fuel section. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving i have a 2002 dodge durango with low mileage around 23000+; dont remember exactly. last week i was going out and the car stalled just around the block from my house. i came to a corner the engine was idling a bit rough so i gave it some gas and then it just died. it took me about 5 minutes before i got it restarted. i immediately brought it home and took it to my dealer the next day. this had happened one time before about a month and a half prior on an extremely cold day probably in low 20s. the 2nd time it happened i had just filled the tank the day before and it was quite as cold maybe upper 40s. the dealer wasnt able to find anything wrong but they did reset the codes. my father suggested i put some dry gas into the tank to combat any possible moisture in there. since it is a fairly new car with not many miles im hesitant to put anything but gas into the tank. i dont know anything about dry gas but what are other peoples recommendations/experiences with it can it hurt my car to put it in thanks. .

i have a 2000 3/4 ton cummins that doesnt like to cold start...it will crank for 8-10 seconds before it fires... when it finally starts it runs perfectly normal. the check valve in the transfer pump might be faulty. .

trans solonoid packs put on restriction at the dealer today. now chrysler wants the technicians to perform a dye test and then contact star center to order the part if we see one leak. keep in mind there is no extra labor to do all this from chrysler. so now when a customer brings a vehicle in for... say an oil change and the techs see one of these leaking who is going to go thru the extra trouble of taking care of the problem it wont happen the cars goes out with the leak still there chrysler is doing what they tried to do and that is to contol the cost of replacing the failed part. bottom line... poor quality from chrysler .

sounds like it could be any one of those things. i will pull it down and check it. i dread it but i also cant stand freezing my a$$ off in a truck that doesnt have a heater in it. thanks for the help. john if you put the motor in a bind by incorrect tension between the mounting screws etc. it can cause extreme vibration to occur. it should fit in the duct nicely and fasten smoothly .. anything else might cause probs. second if the fan has been damaged of if you lost any balancing weights then it will shake like crazy. pull the motor and fan and run it outside the box see if it shakes. third make sure you didnt break the box a crack in the duct will allow small imbalance to make a lot of noise. i have a 1995 dakota that i have replaced the heater motor on. let me tell you this is no small task it has started growling and vibrating the whole truck now. i guess there is nothing left to do but tear back in there and replace it again. anyone have similar experience with these blower motors john .

the security system is faulty. recently every time i start my 2001 durango rt the horn honks one time. if i open the door with the engine running and then close it again the horn honks. when i shut the engine off and exit the vehicle the horn will honk either when i close the door or anywhere from 2 to 15 seconds later. i dont have a security system except what is built into the durango by default nothing optional. the dealer has no clue what could be causing this. anybody got any thoughts .

does your van have abs if so then maybe one of the wheel speed sensors is in need of adjustment/replacement. hello everyone looking for help on this if at all possible. my wifes brake warning lamp on the dashboard comes on 2000 dodge grand caravan during hard cornering or hard decelerating. this started occuring a few months ago so i replaced the pads which were low and added brake fluid which was only slightly low. after the standard repairs the light continues to come on during sharp turns most typically. the amount of brake pressure during these turns doesnt matter. if i take a hard right or left turn with only minimal brake pressure the light comes on near the end of the turn and then goes off a second later. if i come to a straight stop under light to medium deceleration the light does not come on. if i take a gentle right or left turn the light does not come on. if i come to a straight stop under heavy brake pressure the light comes on for a second. its like it goes on like the fuel warning light when the gas tank is low and the fuel slides to one end of the tank making it seem like the tank is empty. i figured it had to be the brake fluid level moving about but that doesnt seem to be the case as the fluid level is at full. any advice is appreciated. btw does sandman still frequent this joint its been a few years. thanks for any assistance. .

so if you read carefully you see you can add atf+4 to atf+3 but you cannot add atf+3 to atf+4. in other words once you completely change over to atf+4 there is no going back unless of course you can drain 100% of the fluid out first. i think its poorly worded but i think they meant to say that you cant use +3 in any components that were originally designed for +4. .

consider this is the only place ive complained but the ot score for football is around thirty just in the few groups i check. then go check a few more im sure you can get way more than thirty. ******** i was just talking about recently in the few groups i browse. im definately loosing this game! im just really tired of hearing about it & completely off-topic in these groups! half the shit we talk about is ot. if you dont want to read it dont click on it. ******** i dont; but i still have to scan through them to get to *on* topic posts. if football is sooooo welcomed why dont you just start a football group & leave the rest of us alone cause its so fun to see how easy it is to get some people riled up about absolutly nothing. if you wouldnt have bitched about it this thread would have been dead..... hey!! im a poet..... denny ********** not hardly. two words that sound alike at the end a sentence in a two sentence paragraph dosent make a poem. should have learned that fairly early in school...heck alot earlier than that. there was a man from nantucket comes to mind... this riling was not that easy for you folks it took years of irritation to get me to post this. dont pat yourself on the back so quickly. glad youre enjoying it though! paul aka tha driver easy on the giggle cream! .

gotta have some help here. if i buy a cummins it is about 5k more than the hemi. given the difference in fuel costs and taking into consideration the mileage difference as well as maintenance costs i figure to be approx. 125k miles to a brake even point. does that sound right to you folks i spent some time driving a 05 hemi powered 2500 4x4 last night very impressive truck. a couple of you own them or just sold one please jump in here need all the pros and cons. also the same truck with a cummins very impressive truck as well. guess it comes down to need vs. want. will i be doing a lot of towing in the next couple of years probably not. will i be plowing snow it looks that way. gotta find out how these hemis plow snow anybody have a blade on one roy your payback miles sounds about right. i figgered mine to be about 100k. keep in mind that with the cummins you get about $2-$3k back for the diesel when you get ready to sell it. mike bosstd big ole sissy seated truck driver ahem! brotherhood of sissy seat truck dudes if its any of your damned business! mike denny cmbba .

yup! thats correct. the hpcr engine is a lot easier on oil than the older cummins engines. i change mine every 7500 and the oil looks almost pristine and the oil analysis shows very little wear and the tbn is still quite high. chryco service manager member sae 7500 miles between normal driving oil changes on the 05 cummins turbo 600 seems unusual to an old gasser like me. -- moparman---remove clothes to reply! --scud coordinates 32.61204 north 96.92993 west-- .
