i notice a lot of folks using mobil 1 at least in their posts and was curious to know why. marketing at the end of the day regular changes of oil and filter will do more for the life of your engine than what kind of oil you use politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

forgot to mention the extra 1.0 to 1.5 mpg w/ synthetic oil. more than one person has seen this which more than pays for the oil cost difference plus the added benefit of better oil. like i said good marketing politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

when i finally found a place to stop and turned the engine off. i pulled the dipstick out and smoke came out of the opening. oil was like it just came out of the bottle. no damage to engine at all after running for approx 20 miles w/ thermostat completely stopped up. after about 30 minutes i was able to open the radiator. borrowed some tools and removed the thermostat added water went on my way. that weekend i installed a new thermostat intalled right amount of antifreeze. that was it. changed the oil at regular interval and never had an engine problem for the next 60k miles when i sold it to a friend and he drove it another 50k miles and sold it and engine was still running fine and did not burn any oil. i cant prove that the engine would have been hurt had regular oil been in it but i doubt being that hot there would not have been some problem show up over the next 100+k miles. -- tony my boats at http//t.thomas.home.mchsi.com just out of curiosity how in the world did mobile 1 save an engine and how could you determine that it did. dddd right up till the point you have a thermostat stick closed. especially if you have aluminum heads. mobile 1 saved an engine on my delta 88 and saved a friends engine on his camry. -- tony my boats at http//t.thomas.home.mchsi.com i notice a lot of folks using mobil 1 at least in their posts and was curious to know why. marketing at the end of the day regular changes of oil and filter will do more for the life of your engine than what kind of oil you use politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

excuse me but the only cars ive ever seen with no temp gauges were some older cars from ford and iirc some gm luxury barges. none had aluminum heads. but of course it can be said that idiot lights are aptly named. budd hard to read a temp guage that does not exist. and when your 20 miles in the middle of nowhere w/ no tools or water available - you drive on. -- tony my boats at http//t.thomas.home.mchsi.com right up till the point you have a thermostat stick closed. especially if you have aluminum heads. if you cant read a water temp gauge then you need all the help you can get synthetic oil is not for everyone no matter what the marketing says politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .

but of course it can be said that idiot lights are aptly named. it certainly seems to apply in his case when the ammeter fried in my old dodge i replaced it with a voltmeter cut fitted and sitting in the ammeter location. my boss at the time a ford freak of course wanted to know why i didnt rig up an idiot light like on his 67 fairlane. i simply explained to him that by the time his lights came on it was too late. he replied for what some folks just make you wonder how they got out of kindergarten . . . budd .

ouch someone has hard a hard morning... harsh steve@carolinabreezehvac steve@removethis.carolinabreezehvac.com wrote for those whove been following my earlier saga i think its the water pump. it looks like its an aftermarket pump. i looked under the truck just now and saw a huge puddle. started the engine for about 45 seconds and saw h2o dripping out of the bottom... its passenger side mounted to the firewall so i guess it must be the waterpump even though it doesnt look like one. i was gonna let this one go...but.. first thats called an ac evap and you see condensation. this is something that most 16 year olds know and understand you said you ordered the service manual....great. its not going to do that much good as it assumes that you understand basics and you dont. take the fucking truck in and allow it to be tested by someone that knows what in hell they are doing..so far its clear you dont. .
