Minor power lock problem

Q: 95 1500 slt power door lock problem. the drivers side door lock is not power locking/unlocking all the time. i do hear the motor trying and once in a while it works. do i have to remove the door panels to repair and what parts may be involved i have the manual and it seems like a lot of work for a minor problem. thanks nick .
