email me if you want to trade. i can email you a picture of what i have in my 01 ram. it is a panasonic in dash cd player with the install kit and wiring harness already on it simple swap out. fyi it will be helpful with any install kit due to the two corner mounting of chrysler stereos to use a small squirt of expanding foam under the kit to help hold it in very tight and securely. old installer trick i simply prefer the looks of the factory cd player and do not use any homemade burned cdrs. david rdkuhajda @ locl . net remove the extra spaces wrote i have a 1999 dodge ram 1500. i like to copy audio cds to listen to my favorite music in my truck. the factory cds play well. as for homemade copied ones some play poorly -- it takes literally minutes for the player to seek the song and start playing. any ideas i your problem is your cd player is probably out dated and doesnt have the new files it needs to read the newer cd burning files. try upgrading your cd player to a kenwood or sony. should solve your problem is it a diy project i would very much like to get some new cool cd player... but it seems like it is not the standard shape. dodge ram 1500 1999. i .

on 25 dec 2003 205108 gmt ignoramus24807 ignoramus24807@nospam.24807.invalid wrote i really dont think that the cd capacity was the problem but it really doesnt matter since that solved the problem for now... as long as you use 74s and they work it doesnt really matter why... this is a follow to my previous message complaining that homemade copies of music cds did not play in my 1999 dodge ram 1500 pickup trucks cd player. they sort of could play but it would take the player up to 5 minutes to start playing time that was spent searching for the track. i heard creaking in the cd player obviously unacceptable. the answer was simple. i had to switch from 80 minute cdrs to 74 minute cdrs. the 74 minute ones work great. i just copied a cd with russian wwii songs and it worked beautifully. that specific disk could not play before. i suppose that the trucks player cannot find the table of contents on the 80 minute cdr. since i also experimented with different writing speeds the one that i just tried was recorded with 1x speed. i will now try a cdr recorded at the faster speed to see if speed is an additional issue. the brand that is working is 74 minute tdk cd-r discs. so heres exactly what works 74 minute tdk cdr recorded at 1x speed. i will try to record at differing speeds and also buy different media to ensure that it is indeed the disk capacity issue and not a media issue. i have ruled recording speed out as a sole cause of the problem since 80 minute disks recorded at 1x speed did not work. thanks to all people for your attempts to help. i mac .

take the bulb out of the circuit then check for continuity. --mike i just put some power windows in a 2001 ram 1500 plain jane. i wanted to illuminate the switch when i turned on the lights. i thought no problem. so i went to the ash tray light. thats where i was gonna get the power from. it had two wires going to it. one was kinda brown the other was black with orange. i didnt know which was the hot so i hooked the ground of the meter to one wire and the hot from the meter to a fuse. it showed continuity. so then i hooked the ground of the meter to the other wire of the ash tray light and the hot of the meter to a fuse. i also got continuity. what gives why would both wires show a reading can anyone help .
