Manual for '75 Dodge Adventurer

Q: ok. i removed the trailer wiring harness. i need someone who is familiar with dodge wiring harnesses. i unhooked what i believe to be the main harness that feeds all the back lights. it was located about 8 from the drivers side frame rail. the harness plug itself is a flat pronged rectangular plug. is this not the right one the brake lights stop working with this unplugged. i go to the back taillight pull a bulb out ground the ohmmeter check the socket and there is 3 - 3.5 ohms resistance. are you removing both stop lamps if not youre reading the resistance of the other lamp yes. i will conduct the test with the other lamp removed i didnt have the right size torx last night but even still with 3.5 ohms res that circuit is consuming 50 watts a little much for 1 bulb. the cold resistance of a filament is a lot less than hot; typically by about a 2-1 ratio. according to the book an 1156 tail lamp runs 2..1 amps at 12.8 volts for a resistance just over of 6 ohms. the stop fialment in an 1157 is heavier probably runs about 4-5 ohms hot this is good to know... i will re-run the test. i had no idea. thank you very much for the info. .

i too would like to have the fog lights on they light up the side of the road. does anybody know or if not i would suggest you keep your opions to yourselve groups i thought where to help people not to have a free pop at them what make the difference is the beam pattern not the color. they are fog lights even though they are white. i almost never get shit when i have them on and on the rare occasion that i do i flash them back my high beams and that usually corrects the problem. some people just see more than two white lights and get all bent out of shape even though they are not blinding them. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving on tue 10 feb 2004 034925 gmt michael greenwood mgreenwood@pacbell.net wrote actually i think theyre driving or road lights... fog lights are usually amber or yellow.. i use mine on dark roads away from traffic... in calif. youre not supposed to use them if there is oncoming traffic or someone within xx feet in front of you.. i found out the hard way.. im just curious as to why pulling on the switch is such a hassle it seems that re-wiring the switch would be 100 times the hassle. personally i only turn them on when its foggy...thats why i thought they were called fog lights and not running lights. --mike rchkthfm@bellsouth.net wrote i have a 99 quad-cab. when i turn on my lights i always pull out the light switch to turn on the fog driving lights. is there a way to rewire the fog lights to come on when i turn on my headlights. thanks wow where do you live that has that much fog -- .bob 97 h-d fxdwg - turbocharged!! 01 dakota quad sport 5.9/auto/4x4 83 gmc jimmy beater 66 427sc cobra replica - project 66 mustang coupe - daily driver -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- mac .

yes it is very foolish to not use a seatbelt... but... look where your logic leads... riding a motorcycle even with proper equipment including helmet is statistically much more dangerous than driving in a car... many would even call the choice to ride a motorcycle foolish because of that increased risk. should motorcyclists be barred from receiving emergency medical care because of their standards for safety are not the same as others who prefer to drive a minivan with 6 airbags i rode 200 miles roundtrip once on a bike with an airbag. she didnt like it much though cause she melted her shoe on my exhaust pipe in the first 25 miles. i rode bike for years always with a helmet spilled a couple of times totaled one in a headon with a 68 mustang. fmb .

jon wrote just put a k & n air filter in my 5.9l 2002 ram. any ideas if i will see an improvement in gas mileage or other places its amazing to me the truck gets any air at all the way the intake box is setup. thanks for the info. jon a few years ago one of the rags hot rod car craft did a build up story on the dodge 5.9. the used strictly mopar performance parts made one change at a time and did a dyno test between each change. they tested air cleaner headers computer cam and a couple other small things i cant remember the result was the only part that made a significant improvement was the open element air cleaner. all other parts made no difference or lost power. recently i used a hypertech on my 5.9. made a huge difference in performance and a small difference in fuel mileage. worth every penny. i also have a dodge air cleaner. other than that i have made no changes. more power will have to come from radical changes like a blower. -- ..bob 97 h-d fxdwg - turbocharged!! 01 dakota quad sport 5.9/auto/4x4 83 gmc jimmy beater 66 427sc cobra replica - project 66 mustang coupe - daily driver -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- .

i didnt say that you personally were proposing that was just pointing out that once you start down the road of deciding what risk is acceptable for someone else you never know where that logic will lead. i have met several people who believe that motorcyclists no matter what safety equipment they wear voluntarily take on the extra risk so others should not be responsible for their medical bills. i know that is not what you said but it is only one little step further... actually i kinda agree with the people that you met. not that they should be denied medical coverage but that they are taking on extra risk and should be responsible for it. lets face reality the roads are far more crowded and dangerous and the bikes are much more powerful and faster than they used to be. this is a bad combination and it really should be up to the rider to make sure to use their safety equipment and make sure that they are properly insured for their own sake. while i see your point i dont want to be the one having to pay for it. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

nobulltrans@mchsi.com writes not in modern systems the voltage regulator has a sense lead that is connected directly to the battery terminal electrically if you install diode isolators the regulator will raise the alternator output intil it senses normal voltage across the batteries well now see i just learned something. thanks for the insight. i still wouldnt suggest parallelling batteries tho unless you plan on spending the dollars to do it correctly. theres a lot more to it than just hooking the two together. i admit that im stupid but help me out here. agricultural and construction equipment/ large trucks ect have run multiple batteries in parallel for decades without any kind of isolators. why do you need to do it different in a little truck not arguing just wondering. denny .
