which light are you talking about the one that looks like an engine and is yellow which is the service required light that indicates an emmisions related malfunction that needs fixed in order to be able to reset the light. or the one that says maintenance required and came on exactly at 60k or some multiple of 60k miles which is/was another potential emmisions requirement carry over from the late 1980s to make people actually have the cars emmision systems checked out at least once. david the maintenance required light came on. how do you shut it off it is a 93 v6 dakota. the light came on after i replaced the timing chain and gears. john .
