Q: tnloaswpraemnmcien5g@earthlink.net says... does any one have idea what this stuff is. according to the dealership they claim this is normal and it is only this year and type of engine that does this. i have never seen this kind of crap on and in the oil fill pipe. it is normal for that engine i assume you have the 4.7l v8. its condensation thats making its way up the fill tube mixing with the residual oil and creating that gook. my 2003 ram with a hemi has this weird reddish paint inside the oil cap. i thought the dealer was bsing me when he said they all have it they really do! he opened up three trucks in the service write up and all of them had at least some of it inside the cap. i havent caught the dealer in a lie yet. amazing. bdk well keep trying.... im sure you will if you are persistent enough. mike .

you must be cursed. you need a witch doctors help. i recently had my windshield replaced in my 2004 dodge ram 1500 and no matter what we do it still leaks water around the bolt covers on the handles on each side of the windshield. i have been back to the installer 4 times already. they have sealed the windshield both inside and out and pressure tested checked the seals around the windshield and they cant seem to find the source of the water. spraying a water hose on the truck doesnt cause it to leak. then everytime it sits still and it rains for a while it starts leaking again. i just took the interior pieces out while it was leaking from the rain and i cant see any water coming out. tried pouring more water on it and still no water is visibly leaking. has anyone else had the same problem or any suggestions .
