Life of suspension rubber bushes??

Q: hi people just put new tires on and had an alignment check to make sure of no excess tire wear. the heads of the rubber bushes in the top suspension arms look pretty crappy. the guy doing the alignment said they were fine. any mechanics out there that have an approximate time period to replace rubber bushes or do you just fix it when it is broken its a 95 1500 that i bought used in 98 so i am guessing they are the originals. thanks in advance. dave the exposed part always looks like hell. it is the part that you cant see that matters. im sure that the guy doing the alignment would have loved to have sold you new bushings if they were needed. roy .

atf works perfectly in the power steering pump. thats what everyone i know uses. -- christopher a. young you cant shout down a troll. you have to starve them. .. i added about a 1/4 cup of mercon v atf to my ps reservoir. immediately realizing my mistake i siphoned out all of the ps fluid and atf in the reservoir and refilled it with ps fluid i then siphoned out all of the fluid again and refilled it a second time with ps fluid i then siphoned it one last time and refilled it again. is there anything else i should do or am i good to go thanks! joe .
