Left blinker going twice as fast as normal

Q: suddenly without warning todd exclaimed 28-nov-06 522 am everyone could use some insight here. 2000 ram 1500 truck left signal is clicking and flashing twice as fast as normal right signal is normal speed. i know this normally means a bad bulb but that didnt fix my problem unfortunately. here is the scoop. checked the fuses they are ok. left front blinks left rear does not blink. replaced rear bulb with the same one 3157. no change. my truck already has a towing package installed so nothing has changed with the wiring. i also tow a camper and when the camper is plugged in no more fast blink and the rear camper light works just fine. so what else should i check first i did buy a returned pack of opened bulbs from oreilly only because that was the last ones they had. for all i know that could be the problem maybe they are bad bulbs. i might pull a bulb from the right side and plug into the left side to rule out the new bulbs i have being bad. thanks id say you have bad wiring somewhere. had this happen to me recently with one of the front bulbs. same symptoms replaced the bulb no change. from past experience this sounds like a loose connection somewhere or a cold solder. jmc .

hey all 2001 ram 1500 4x4 quad with abs..............lateley even at 20-25 mph when i give the pedal a little more pressure than normal the rears lock up then release....abs light does not come on so i dont think its because its not working properly.....just had my front pads replaced with heavy-duty ones...........rears checked out ok at the inspection.....should i check the rear pads again and maybe replace......suggestions if you please.... thanks charlie the oc .

test 1 remove bulbs from left front and left rear. switch em. see if the problem follows the bulb or stays with the wire. test 2 to use meter turn key on switch on the left blinker. pull the rear bulb out and set your meter to dc volts scale that will read 12 volts. negative black wire on the tester touches the outer ring of the socket and one of the buttons in the bottom inside of the socket should be getting 12 volts plus red tester wire. and the 12 volts should blink on and off. if the socket is getting power then its likely a bulb problem. if the socket isnt getting power try put the black lead to something metal like a screw. if it now gets power you have a bad ground. -- christopher a. young you cant shout down a troll. you have to starve them. .. yeah i was afraid of that. how did you go about tracking it down is there anything i can do to test for this such as a meter .

hey gang whats to be expected if a few gallons of regular gas was mixed in with aproximately 15 gallons of diesel any serious problems thanks david im gonna be in so much trouble *grin* my wife a while back filled our liberty with 87 octane. left it running while she filled it and yes the fuel light was on so it was really low. and drove it about 1/2 a mile before she realized what she had done. she immediately pulled off and shut it down. then called me i had to clear the equipment trailer and go get it oh what a joy that was. but anyways after removing the tank and draining the fuel/gas mix much more gas than diesel out of the tank and some fresh diesel the liberty im proud to say still runs like a champ and hasnt missed a lick. no notable damage. just be glad yours was only a few gallons. and id imagine if the liberty lived though that you have nothing major to worry about. -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. .

bb wrote 2006 ram 3500/cummins 500 miles. im looking to get an extended warranty on the above vehicle. im not that much into car stuff but one of my car nut friends has recommended aftermarket extended warranties. anybody have any opinions or recommendations i figure the warranty is only as good as the company writing it so although price is a concern i do want a solid company. buy a dcx extended warranty rather than some aftermarket. i have seen too many of these aftermarket companies fold up shop leaving anyone with a policy with a worthless warranty. .
