Kerry now favors a draft

Q: the only thing that distinguishes kerrys iraq proposals from bushs is his promise to deploy his unique near-mystical ability to bring in new allies to fight and pay for the war in iraq -- to make iraq the worlds responsibility and get others to share the burden as he said this week at new york university. yet even richard holbrooke a top kerry foreign policy adviser admits that the president of france is not going to call up president kerry and say how many divisions should i send to iraq nor will anyone else. kerry abuses americas closest friends while courting those like germany and france that have deliberately undermined america before during and after the war. what lessons are leaders abroad to draw from this when president kerry asks them -- pretty please in his most mellifluous french -- to put themselves on the line for the united states http//www.townhall.com/columnists/charleskrauthammer/ck20040924.shtml while kerry blathers on constantly about restoring relations with our allies the only allies he cares about are those who opposed bush. chirac being his favorite for being the staunchest anti-bush european politician. kerry has never said one good thing about aznar tony blair or john howard. and yet britain and australia have been two of americas closest allies for most of the past century. why because tony blair and john howard chose to stand with the bush administration against saddam--at great political cost to themselves. as for chirac he wont send lots of troops to iraq anyway--even if kerry were president even if chirac could simply pick the next american president. so kerry disses the allies who chose to stand with us and schmoozes the nations who opposed us knowing full well they will welch on us when the time comes anyway. all in all thats a cynical move to win the election with a foreign policy guaranteed to lose the war. .
