this link http//www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2000/01/airfilters/index.shtml takes you to a ford site where all the major brands of automotive air filters are tested empirically for filtration and flow. included at the site is a chart that tells how big a filter a given engine displacement needs for a maximum rpm. i am not responsible for the content of the site so dont complain to me if it tells you something you dont want to hear. -- budd pres. bush john kerry has changed his position on the iraq war so many times he could debate himself. b.c. and lose. very interesting reading. im glad you posted the link. i didnt see the chart for sizing the filter to the engine. how many cfm filter would the typical stock 5.9l engine require thanks denny #2 the formula for four stroke engine cfm is cid x rpm x ve* / 3456 *ve = volumetric efficiency 100% efficient = 1 no engine is 100% efficient however. therefore... 360 x 5500 x 1 / 3456 = 573cfm that assumes 100% efficiency which aint gonna happen mike .

-- budd pres. bush john kerry has changed his position on the iraq war so many times he could debate himself. b.c. and lose. no tom my morals didnt change . . .you just dont realize what it takes to keep from becoming the foulmouthed troll you are. really where is all teh cursing that im doing as for the troll part you are every bit as bad as you accuse me of being and you know it. oh the cursing will come . . eventually. it dominates your speech patterns. yea yea sure it will. and it wont be long either. as for trolling point out where i placed a post with the intent to troll. the one i retracted not long ago does not count as i did withdraw it even though you tried to troll me anyway. lol how old are you 5 sorry budd but you cant retract it so it does count whether you like it or not. well id need to check the google archives but it was retracted here and apologized for. whether you accept that is of no consequence. the majority have apparently accepted it. no budd the just dont give a crap anymore. and retraction or not it was still trolling because if it were valid you would have left it and the intent was initially the same regardless of the validity of the post. lol of course it was who signed such a stupid contract. only an idiot would sign a contract with that type of clause and no protection. i doubt that it would have held up in court anyway unless it had a clear maximum on it that they were meeting and even then it is still your fault for setting the maximum too low. really lol your lack of business acumen haunts you even now. you think because laws are the way they are today concerning contracts they were always that way. how narrow minded of you. it is not narrow minded of me at all. you were the idiot that signed a contract that put you out of buisness and were to wimpy to fight it. how about too broke then the buisness was failing prior to the contract problem or you let it go too long. either way the failure was yours. tell me something tom would you consider a mans word as trustworty as a legal contract in todays world you must be kidding. ah well that little sentence tells much about you. like they say budd a fool and his money. otoh there are several including a few ive not gotten along with but youre not in the group that i feel i could take a handshake from as a bonded contract. i hope a few feel that way about me. can you claim that nope a verbal contract isnt worth the paper its written on. this is sarcasm budd a written contract serves to clearly outline what is expected from the other person and there is no insult in signing one. you just have to understand what is written in it something that you failed to do in that one buisness. the second one which went to an employee is still going afaik. i was fourteen when i had it tom and when my family decided to move to indiana i didnt have a choice to stay so my employees got it. he licensed it as a business when he turned 18 and the law required it to be licensed. it wasnt a failure and may still be operating. that is no excuse as you could have reopened it in the new area that you moved too. i didnt want to clear enough why not too much established competition as i mentioned in another post. now any further questions on the matter or has it finally sunk into your skull it sounds more like you couldnt match the new competition. i wouldnt count a business that you ran when you were 14 as successful or failed since it wasnt a legal business anyway unless the labor laws were different way back then. lol not a legal business then the department of social services really screwed up by claiming the pittiance i made mowing a few lawns as sufficient to deny a family of 6 their welfare disbursments. your assumtions are getting worse and worse. boy you seem to be on welfare often. is this a family thing you would have to be a real idiot to report that income. it would appear that you were born into a far more wealthy lifestyle than i was. . .whos fault is that tom fault how can it be anyones fault. i was a 14 year old kid that would give his mom about $80 / week for necessities . . what did i know of welfare i was trying to get a motorscooter. if your family was getting $80 / week in 1961 what did you need welfare for. that sounds like someone trying to cheat the system. and you wonder why it is so screwed up now. tom do you even have the foggiest idea of what a good hourly wage was in 1961 do you even know if a fourteen year old child in 61 could privately own a business i do recall you saying that you were making more than the president of the local bank or was that just your hourly rate both. hourly wages in 61 were less than $1.25 / hr in that community las animas colorado . . look up the populat

a mechanic twisted off #7 spark plug on my 96 dodge ram 1500 5.7 liter v-8. furthest back on left and obstructed by master cylinder vacuum chamber steering column and several brake-lines. at least it sloped forward instead of rearward. he then sent me on my way to have it dealt with somewhere else. and yes it was a champion plug as has been criticized by some on the web rc12yc..14mm 3/4 reach. i wasnt quick enough to challenge him when he used only a simple ratchet handle and socket which exerts extra side-pressure on the threads and a harmful side-tilting force on the plug. he ovbviously should have used an extension using any method to insure that the extension only exerted pure rotational force on the spark plug. he had advised against using an impact tool on it. in fairness i had removed the other 7 plugs and another one was extremely tight and i had thought it might twist off. i took the last one to the mechanic because i thought he might have some better method. some of my initial ideas for removing the threads failed wasting a period of time ..lucky i didnt need the truck....including a few careless maneuvers that cost me a lot of wasted time and effort...especially because of waiting almost a day every time i used jb-weld epoxy that needed to cure. its possible some of my attempts may have helped a little but here is what finally worked based on a web- posters success using an oxy/acetyln torch for heating. i bought a square-type tapered bolt remover usually called easy-outs sized for 5/16 hole. then bought a can of some kind of freezing spray at radio shack that can chill to -50 degree f. also available at www.mcminone.com envi-ro-tech freezer #20-2200 1-800-543-4330 or 1-877-626-3532. i then went back to the mechanic and he used his oxy/acetlyn torch with a very small tip to heat the the remaining spark plug shell to a cherry- red. i then immediately sprayed it with the cold-spray after which he was able to use the square easy-out to remove the remains of the spark plug. actually we repeated the heating chilling sequence a second time. he admitted that he had never been able to get them out before and had initially sent me away to a machine shop when he first broke it off. i of course got my suggestions from posters on the internet. in hindsight i might try an alternate approach first i bought a left hand thread tap 3/8-16 that can be hand-turned thru the existing hole strongly magnetized to retain the metal particles...the shell spark gap electrode only bent it did not separate and fall into the cylinder. this provides two things...it thins or weakens the shell a little and when a left-hand thread bolt is screwed in it bottoms out counter-clockwise after which force is now applied to turning the plug shell out....without any outward pressure to the sides such as a tapered square easy-out must have heating cherry red as before. unfortunately i only thought of this after i had earlier run a right-hand tap through...and as i suspected the threads were too weak to avoid stripping out. i was only able to buy a grade 5 bolt strength left-hand so a judgement would have to be made whether it would twist off. of course we had the same worry with the tapered square easy-out. ....so its possible my earlier misadventure cutting the threads did help in the final success. needless to say i used anti-seize paste on the threads although some claim that changes the heat-range value. .

i dont know about dodge but gm has taken a few steps backward with its 2005 silverado and sierra 1500-series trucks there are 3 differences in standard equipment for 2005 2004 2005 4-wheel disk brakes front disc/rear drum brakes i dont think the rear disc brake is all its cracked up to be. iirc at maximum braking the front brakes are providing 90% of the stopping power and the rears down to 10% which is also why i believe rear anti-lock was first put on trucks. i remember before rear abs stopping an empty pickup in the rain was exciting to say the least. the rear end would come around in a heartbeat. so if youre down to 10% at max braking i dont see why rear drums arent entirely satisfactory. and after paying over $100 ea. for rear calipers im even less excited about rear discs. i couldnt get rebuilts or kits let alone stainless steel pistons for my 01 had to go with new and the phenolic pistons i dislike so much. p235/75r16 tires p245/70r17 tires max rating 2271 lbs. max rating 2205 lbs. dodge has already gone with 17s even on the duallies. i dont know why it seems to be the coming thing. i also remember when the standard big truck tire was 10.00x20 now were putting 20s on pickups. heck medium duty trucks use 19.5 and 22.5s these days. big trucks use 22.5 and 24.5s rear axle 3.42 ratio rear axle 3.23 ratio the other difference is the epa rating of the 2005 truck with the following equipment 4-spd automatic transmission vortec 4800 v8 sfi gas engine 2004 2005 city 17/highway 20 city 16/highway 21 theres no optional axle ratio just because im old and remember this stuff in the 60s we considered 3.23s to be highway gears no need for overdrive. if gm hasnt changed it recently their od ratio was 0.7 making for a final drive ratio of 2.26. that ratio reminds me of bonneville racers and the automakers using ratios like this to keep their tons of pollutants per mile down. if a 4.8 liter engine pulls this ratio in a full size truck with acceptable performance im pretty impressed. after 6 years of using rear disc brakes gm made the decision to go back to antiquated drum brakes on the rear of its 2005 1500-series trucks to save money. even though drum brakes have more parts than disc brakes and are harder to service they are less expensive to manufacture. i dont know for certain how chevy handled the parking brake situation but dodge did it just like the mid 70s imperial they machined a brake drum inside the rear rotors its just like a minature drum brake built inside a rotor they didnt save on the piece count as near as i can tell. well i didnt mean to bore anyone just some random thoughts on the presented material. in a feeble attempt to give some credibility to its decision to reinstate the old fashioned rear drum brake system gm has made the brake drums bigger. this improvement was undoubtedly done to increase stopping power and heat dissipation. now gm would like us to believe that its rear drum brakes are superior to its earlier rear disk brakes. however gm has stopped short of putting drum brakes on the front of its trucks -- at least for the 2005 model year. unfortunately the newly-designed rear drum brake system of the 2005 1500-series trucks has a drum which is now so large that it requires the use of a 17-inch rim in order to give it adequate clearance. the use of this larger rim necessitates the use of lower profile tires so the load capacity of the 4 standard-equipment tires of the 2005 truck is reduced by 264 pounds when compared to the standard tires which were on the 1999-2004 1500-series trucks with 16-inch rims. it appears that gm has used the new 3.23 rear axle ratio to obtain higher highway mileage in the 2005 truck. there will now be a decrease of 4th-gear power of around 6% and the lower city rating indicates that there will also be an increase in down-shifting. in my opinion this is another big step backward. heres what the gmc website has to say in regard to technological advances what is professional grade its a commitment to a higher standard of innovative engineering design and performance. as of the 2005 model year this statement became total bullshit. so what does gms backward technology and product degradation have to do with dodge plenty! dodge may have followed suite and downgraded its trucks as well. watch out! http//www.gmc.com/index.jspversion=flash .

no tom my morals didnt change . . .you just dont realize what it takes to keep from becoming the foulmouthed troll you are. really where is all teh cursing that im doing as for the troll part you are every bit as bad as you accuse me of being and you know it. oh the cursing will come . . eventually. it dominates your speech patterns. as for trolling point out where i placed a post with the intent to troll. the one i retracted not long ago does not count as i did withdraw it even though you tried to troll me anyway. lol of course it was who signed such a stupid contract. only an idiot would sign a contract with that type of clause and no protection. i doubt that it would have held up in court anyway unless it had a clear maximum on it that they were meeting and even then it is still your fault for setting the maximum too low. really lol your lack of business acumen haunts you even now. you think because laws are the way they are today concerning contracts they were always that way. how narrow minded of you. tell me something tom would you consider a mans word as trustworty as a legal contract the second one which went to an employee is still going afaik. i was fourteen when i had it tom and when my family decided to move to indiana i didnt have a choice to stay so my employees got it. he licensed it as a business when he turned 18 and the law required it to be licensed. it wasnt a failure and may still be operating. that is no excuse as you could have reopened it in the new area that you moved too. i didnt want to clear enough i wouldnt count a business that you ran when you were 14 as successful or failed since it wasnt a legal business anyway unless the labor laws were different way back then. lol not a legal business then the department of social services really screwed up by claiming the pittiance i made mowing a few lawns as sufficient to deny a family of 6 their welfare disbursments. your assumtions are getting worse and worse. tom do you even have the foggiest idea of what a good hourly wage was in 1961 do you even know if a fourteen year old child in 61 could privately own a business the last business was to have only been a hobby business and not a primary income supplier. when it got too demanding because of its success i closed it. that makes no sence at all and sounds more like you are lying. why would you close it it sounds more like you couldnt meet demand or your work got shoddy from rushing and you customers got pissed and stopped ordering from you. you should have increased your prices to reduce demand and if that didnt work you would have had the money to hire someone to help you. sorry budd still sounds like failure on your part. and more unsupportable assumptions on your part tom. keep digging the hole and youll bury yourself. if you decided to close a business even if it were making an income you would call yourself a failure did you forget it was after my first heart attack and i wasnt released for going back to work full time since when is health problems a reason for failure in this case it was prudent to my health to close. i doubt that and your health problems were not the reason for your failure just your excuse for it. lol right. let me ask you something does any of the following run in your family on either side diabetes high blood pressure cholesterol probs obesity or dying younger than the national average if so then you are a candidate for a heart attack. lets see what happens when you have one. lets see who makes excuses then. so tom you dead freaking wrong with your assumptions and wild guesses .. . . .as usual. how many times more will i have to explain this to you how many more times will you corrupt truth to wield this things as weapons how many times will you lie about what you know to save face lol how do your failures help me to save face. how do your successes diminish me either for that matter. the correct answer is neither do either. there is no competition here budd at least not on my side. perhaps you feel the need to justify your life by trying to be better than others but i dont. i dont have to justify anything to you troll-boy but i do have to correct your incorrect assumptions and outright lies about me. you are the one that corrupts what ive said and then claims its a weakness on my part or a sign im a failure in a very uncivil immature anti-social degrading attack on my character. all ive ever said about you has been supported by others that have a whole lot more knowledge about the subjects than you do. so tom which of us is more likely telling the truth which of us has no support in the form of parallel commentary from others that regularly post here which of us deliberately trolls the group and which of us has to lie and corrupt facts to try and win arguments it isnt me. so from now on ill be

i know that all of us are wrong at one time or another but some in here make it a big deal if im not absolutely correct. why is that roy as for the lightning a perfect example of above i was not completely wrong. i said that you needed numbers close to that of the srt10 to beat it and your link pretty much confirms that. putting a fairly high overdrive on the blower and reprogramming the computer and a high flow filter does add some considerable hp to that engine but it does it without increasing the durability of either the engine or drive train. at least one person on that group made these changes and was supproized that it is still running without failure after 10 months. not exactly the definition of reliability there and most of the ones with these mods indicate that they are not using them for towing anymore. now while it does appear to be less expensive to get them to this point than i thought they are not there and completely dependable either and they are at the top of what they can be. the srt10 is only at its beginning. tom with those minor mods if you lost the motor you could by a new short block and do it again and still have saved money. astually you could buy a couple of short blocks. sorry for the piggyback response on budds reply but rrs worthless servers really suck and i never saw this one from you. sure you probably could buy a few stock short blocks for less and save money but you really wouldnt be any better off than you were to begin with. then you forgot to add the time and fun of yanking the dead engine out swapping parts putting the new one back in and hoping that you didnt miss or break something in the process and having no vehicle in the mean time. a mechanic has the ability to do a job correctly and not break things in the amount you imply. iirc that engine was designed to put out around 260 hp stock without the blower and ford already added 100+ hp to it and i doubt that they made any significant changes internally or they simply wouldnt be able to sell that truck so cheap. the fact that you can only get it with the automatic shows that they didnt invest in a modified standard shift and that automatic was all that they had to handle the massive torque that engine puts out. add another 100hp and put a load on it towing and you may be replacing more than that engine. and you got your automotive engineering degree where from a wal mart discontinued items stand thought so. you really dont know what engines are capable of do you you really dont understand what it takes to do the job discussed do you if what you said were true then aa/fd dragsters wouldnt be running in the 4s and the old hemi from the 50s would never have handled 95% nitromethane loads and wed still be driving model ts. this is the reason the srt10 cannot tow its trans cannot handle the torque of that engine and a towing load together. really how about pressure from the hierarchy demanding a match for the lightning be on the market this model year instead of waiting till a trans is ready thats the possibility you choose to ignore. has it ever happened yes many times. the 64 pontiac gto had a hot engine and 9 /2 drum brakes. the early turbo corvairs had a dangerous turbo lag and would die if you kicked it too had at too low of rpm and no braking improvements the first barracudas had a 273 engine that loved 6000 rpms even with the two-barrel but 9 drum brakes and thats just the tip of the iceberg. if you really understood business then you would know that pressure from the top has caused many companies to go belly up when poorly engineered products hit the market . -- budd pres. bush john kerry has changed his position on the iraq war so many times he could debate himself. b.c. and lose. .

1999 dodge 1500 4 x 4. i see a discussion about a problem that is very similar to one a friend is experiencing. instrument/dash lights illimination for speedo tach etc and tail running lights are out. tail light has three bulbs upper middle reverse light and lower. the upper light still comes on for brakes hazzards and blinkers. middle section still comes on for reverse. lower section never comes on. my friend and i really dont know much about electrical systems testing hunting problems reading schematics etc. so well probably end up at a shop or possibly turning to another friend for assistance. but first i would like to at least find a burnt fuse and try changing it it may have blown when he tried hooking up a trailer a few weeks ago. i have looked at all of the fuses on the side of the dash and in the fuse compartment under the hood. i cant find a bad fuse nor one that is labeled such that it looks like it would be the fuse that these circuits are on at least not in the owners manual that came with the truck. can anyone tell me for sure what fuse should be out if this is occuring or if it could possibly be the light switch or thanks .

tbone wrote pyramid schemes dont sell products either but that is not the point. bull. the ftc defines what is a pyramid and what makes them illegal vs. a legal mlm and they most certainly can and do sell products. youre incorrectly thinking of the scams that have no product which is only one form of an illegal pyramid. mlms such as amway were once considered an illegal pyramid by the ftc and were forced to alter how they pay commissions and recruit distributors. the point is that he shouldnt claim to be the all knowing master of business and then get even these simple terms wrong. then you should not either as you got them very wrong. but will never admit to that. just about any distributition network will also take the shape of a triangle if you draw it on paper but that does not make them pyramids or mlms either. in most mlms an individual distributor does not make money selling products. in an mlm verticle growth is required to survive. .

gees budd with your living conditions you should be the last person to say that anybody doesnt know how big business works. and what does my choice of living conditions have to do with it its economical comfortable and when i move i dont have to buy all new furniture learn a new floorplan or re-hang my pictures. and its all that you can afford. now there is nothing wrong with that but stop claiming to be some sort of business genious and superior to me in every way when the proof is in the pudding. if it werent for your idiotic assumtions about people tom and your closet bigotries youd have to act human. there are no assumptions about it budd. you said it yourself many times which again shows poor planning. one could presume you were run out of where was it new jersey couldnt they and it would be no more presumptuous than your vicious comment troll-boy. run out lol. more like i ran out while the gettin was good. as for a vicious comment it is no worse that the ones you make about me every chance that you get. what claims youve admitted in public forum to being the group troll-boy. dont like it stop trolling and grow up. pkb there buddy. i am not referring to you calling me a troll and you have admitted to doing it yourself and not all that long ago either when you said thatr you just like to play with me. sorry budd but that is trolling any way you want to spin it. i am referring to your constant unfounded attacks on what i know and dont know and the funny thing is i prove you wrong far more than you do to me. and who was the one who got suckered into amway not once but twice. wheres your proof that i was suckered in your previous posts about what a scam it was and your hatred for all mlms. asumptions assumptions assumptions. gee tommy-troll do you think obviously you dont but . . . that maybe i was young foolish and desperate to provide for my family and that i figured out the scam during the second go round the fact is it still took you a second go around to figure it out oh master of buisness. i figured it out before the first one when i was approached at 19 or so. simple math shows that it will only work for the people at the top and that i wasnt one of them. i did buy a few of their products though because they worked well especially for the price. i was trying to make a living in a democrat congress controlled economy and i admitted getting involved with that pyramid plan was a mistake but i was also a lot younger then and had a family to feed and shelter. yea it was the democrates fault lol. btw a pyramid and an mlm are not the same thing. perhaps you should look them up. if it advocates bringing in downline membership over engaging in retail sales its apyramid and most mlms are pyramids for thay very reason. wrong. a pyramid doesnt sell a product. that is why it is called an mlm instead. but why am i telling you because you are an idiot that hates to be told that they are wrong even more than i do and thats saying something thanks guy - you dont want to learn anything you already know it all. quite sophomoric of you. i at least know the difference between a mlm and a pyramid. when are you going to figure it out. sorry budd but i am fully aware how big business works and it survives the way it does because of ignorant people like yourself. rotflmbo!!!!! sure you understand tom. you understand you dont want anyone to pop your little liberal bubbles about how life the universe and everything works in reality. ok budd keep spinning in you land of denial. the right wing has you so brainwashed that they can feed you cold shit on a paper plate which they pretty much did and you would thank them for their precious offerings like they were god himself. i laugh when i here the conservative candidates claim that they want to give even more unconditional tax breaks to big business to create more jobs here when everyone with a functioning brain knows that it will never happen unless those tax brakes are fully conditional on the type and number of jobs. and you still havent learned a thing. shame on you. in order for me to learn i would need to be talking to someone who knows more than i do and be willing to share it. you fail on the first count more times than not and fail on the second count with me at a clean 100%. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

bill yea i will agree to all of that it is probably just going to take some getting used to. thanks for your comments good luck with your truck. what i have noticed is that it is more important to have the rpms in a certain range when making your shift and letting the clutch out. takes a little more finesse at feathering the throttle than the fords new process 435 required. i havent noticed what i would call a slap but get more of a thunk in the drive train when it isnt happy with my rpms. usually because my rpms are too low. also the clutch seems to have a longer area in the upper part of the pedal travel where it engages. the bottom third of the pedal travel doesnt seem to effect clutch engagement as much as the upper portion. you can tell its just starting to grab in the lower portion but is halfway up when it really starts to grab. i think we have to learn to shift a little differently with these dodges as they are not as forgiving as the old fords. i still stick by my opinion that our transmissions are a bit weak probably due to the aluminum case. the 3/4 tons come with a cast iron case on the manual transmission. i have no concerns with the clutch. i still love my truck though even if it doesnt have a bullet proof tranny. mine is flame red with the work group package. dark grey bumpers and grill. i havent seen another one like it anywhere. i did see a dark blue one with a utility bed a few months ago that had the work package. bill thanks for your information glad to see someone else is also experiencing some of what im seeing. now that you mention it i will say that 1st-3rd gears are louder than the ford gears but one could only hope that the noise is some of that dodge power pushing that transmission... wishful thinking! ive thought more about what i said regarding the transmission and i did some playing yesterday and i will say the clutch engage point doesnt seem to be on the floor as you would find in other vehicles after a new clutch is installed. the way i see it and maybe you can comment on what you are feeling but i know the clutch is contacting the flywheel the truck is rolling but if i dont take it slow from that point i can feel a slap like something else is slapping the clutch or pressure plate. if i release real slow and easy everything shifts very nicely. i drove a 1987 ford f-150 single cab with the newprocess 4-speed and a inline 6 for 2 years defiantly different than this one. .

on flat roads a 3.54 screw will drag a balanced 7-ton 5th wheel down the highway just fine. out here in montana we dont have to many flat roads. id really hate to start a climb to 11000 feet and run out of power. 90k on the clock of an 01 is about twice where it oughtta be dont you think i figure that many miles on an 01 it has to be highway miles. judging by how immaculate the entire truck is the owner obviously cared about it hopefully enough to properly maintain it. is there some reason you think you -need- a 4 x 4 other than the fact it sits high and looks cool one word - montana. - so long as you stay inside the city limits and even then on the main roads only you can get around with 2 wheel drive most of the time anyway but out here when you leave the city limits or even just the downtown part you are in the middle of nowhere. the unmaintained dirt road is at least just as common as the paved road and even the paved roads arents plowed when it snows. the only roads plowed out here are the main streets through downtown so 4 wheel drive is required. .

how can you make the first statement if you dont know the answers to the questions that follow because engine superiority has nothing to do with the final drive ratio behind it. my ford would probably pull more than my dodge right now because it has superior numbers on paper thanks to chipping and a 4.11 gear ratio but id still rather tow with the big dodge just because the cummins torque curve is more predictable and consistant. theyre both great trucks i just really prefer the cummins at 11000 feet. i thought about putting a cummins in my ford and just keeping it http//fordcummins.com but the expense wouldnt be worth it. .

hmm you never did prove i was a failure but everytime you post your insecurity shows. yes i did. i doubt that the grass cutting buisness ever existed and if it did and you were really givng your family that much money and they were still trying to collect welfare that shows what kind of stock you come from. as for the other two both failures were yours for both signing an idiotic contract and the other for not planning ahead. whether you believe or not that i had a lawn service doesnt matter your word has less than zero value for truthfulness. as for the others fine believe what ever your little mind can handle. i hope someday you find yourself in the same situtations. that doesnt sound very christian like of you. and you make the common error of think christians are not allowed to defend themselves or their families. the scripture says to turn the other cheek and god only gave me two. but i doubt you will learn from it. i doubt that i would ever let it happen. ah finally an admission that you are unwilling to learn. thanks! the incident with the post from my sis-in-law no but good point and not even 24 hrs after attacking me for doing the same thing lol. i guess that its ok when you do it though. the difference was i retracted the post and actually learned a bit from the incident. you still argued yours was right. no i didnt and you know it. i actually said the same thing that you did that i got it froma trusted source and didnt check it. that is far from defending it or saying that i was right. and you were the first one to start crap with me about it saying that i dont believe in accuracy and you do and then less than 24 hrs later do the same damn thing. retraction or not you still did it and we all saw it and it wouldnt have mattered at all if you didnt complain about someone else doing it first lol. thats not how i remember it but then you never remember things as i do. are you dredging up about that incident with roy that everyone would forget if you didnt keep dragging it up troll. but then troublemaking is your entire life and joy isnt it wuss lol yep thats the one and why should we forget it. if you were everything that you claim to be then it never should have happened. hell you followed him around posting crap sorta like you tries to do to me. the difference is that i have no problem stooping down to your level while roy did. if you dont want me to bring it up then stop trying to make yourself out to be better than me because history says it aint so. lol history says im better than you when im at my worst and youre just a little idiotic troll. only in that tiny little mind of yours. ditto but your mind on pin point would look like a quark lost in the entire universe. btw this is the first time i ever brought the topic of that incident up. the last 3 or twenty times has always been you throwing in my face little boy. 3 or twenty huh. is this more of that fuzzy math of yours again you also said that you would never bring it up again and here it is. i guess that makes you a liar as well. only because you forced the issue. still your fault. unlike you i dont keep score on things like how many times i show you to be a an idiot. come on tom is that all the better you can do come on see if you can find more to make yourself look like a childish ass. its so funny watching you kicking your heels against the floor like a baby having a temper tantrum. lol now that would be you. every post we are in turns into a crying match started by you. trying to spin out by changing the subject troll what subject would that be your complete idiocy. come on you show us even better what an immature brain dead little idiot you are. youre such a pathetic little crybaby. you havent had the maturity to even comment on the ford website that proves you were wrong about the k$n filters. lol what for. when i do comment you complain when i dont you complain anyway. make up your mind already. i did notice that ford rated k&n as one of the highest flowing filters and iirc said you could see a few extra hp with it in a high performance engine. they even said that economically it could be better because of its reusable nature. and nothing about them destroying an engine. there is that better. so if you really looked at it at all and i doubt you did how did you miss the evidence that said k$n filters pass more dirt which means more wear. i know it doesnt say anything about destroying an engine but it does say the engine will wear faster really where exactly does it say that you are a complete braindead idiot. read the freaking site if you want the answer. im not your mommy and ill not read it to you. which is what i have said all along. you are the one that keeps throwing out the destroying word. no

user@domain.invalid wrote so who really knows for sure what happened. this drivel has already been debunked. as usual the righties just regurgitate old false accusations hoping to slip one by. how about the fact that alawi was coached extensively and his speech to congress which bush mentioned last night and pointed to repeatedly as evidence of allawis courage and resolve was in fact written by the wh speechwriters. yeah. bush is one honest dude. lol... jeff flip-flop kerry wrote did kerry write own report of disputed clash october 1 2004 by thomas lipscomb a faded 35-year-old operations order recovered from the naval historical center in washington bears directly on the ongoing dispute between sen. john kerry and the swift boat veterans for truth about who wrote the key after-action report that ended kerrys service in vietnam. the report appears in the official navy records and is posted on kerrys presidential campaign web site. the report details kerrys participation in a naval operation on the bay hap river on march 13 1969 in such glowing terms that he was awarded a purple heart and a bronze star for pulling special forces officer james rassmann out of the water while under heavy enemy fire. this third purple heart allowed kerry to cut short his vietnam tour after only four months. the report in question described a mission of five swift boats ambushed by a mine explosion that seriously damaged one boat while the swift boats received heavy fire from both banks. the fire continued for three miles the report said. roy hoffman the admiral who commanded the swift boats in vietnam finds that detail alone absurd. hoffman a member of the anti-kerry swift boat veterans group says there was never an incident under my command in all of vietnam where my boats were engaged by continuous fire from both banks of a half mile in length much less three. it never happened the report mentions two other mines detonating as well. so according to this report which now stands as the official navy record this swift boat mission concluded by running a three-mile gantlet of enemy fire from both banks the detonation of three mines and yet the only casualties occurred on the boat that hit the first mine. the boats managed to escape and even more miraculously retrieve the sinking boat pcf-3 without getting a single bullet hole in any vessel or crew member. it is miraculous all right because it never happened recalls larry thurlow a kerry critic who commanded the mission. pcf-3 hit a mine; all of my boats directed suppressing fire on both banks expecting the mine to be followed up by gunfire. but after a couple of minutes we ceased firing and took steps to aid the sinking pcf-3 and its injured crew members. there was never a shot fired at us and no additional mines went off either. and if we had been facing gunfire from both sides of three miles of riverbank i would have called in the standby air support. i didnt. after he returned to the united states the following month thurlow was surprised to find that he had received a bronze star himself because of his activities described in the after-action report. when thurlow first saw the report last july he didnt recognize the mission it described. the kerry campaign pointed to thurlows own citation referring to his being under constant enemy small arms fire when the swift boat veterans for truth first contested kerrys account in august. as the commander of the mission normally thurlow would have filed the disputed after-action report. but he denies writing it. and the after-action report supports his denial. it was written by someone designated te 194.5.4.4/1. an operations order by adm. hoffman two months earlier set the format for the designation. the operations order procedures originated by the operational commander of the coastal 11 an thoi unit kerry served with cmdr. adrian lonsdale was the basis for the terms of designation used in this kind of report subsequently. upon seeing the report lonsdale a swift boat veterans for truth member recognized it and recalled the procedures it required as being followed in his command. te refers to a task element which is defined by the numbers to the right which show the command structure over the task element in action. 194 is adm. elmo zumwalt commander of u.s. naval forces in vietnam; 5 is hoffmans swift boat command; 4 is lonsdales command and the last 4 is capt. george elliots swift boat base at an thoi where the boats on this mission were based. the last 1 indicates someone other than the commander of the mission. if the report had been submitted by the mission commander in this case thurlow according to the operations order it would have begun with a c for commander of the task element and the sender would have been cte 194.5.4.4. according to a navy communications expert chief petty officer troy jenkins who has examined the mes

finally the only reason that kerry did well at all is that he changed his position one more time. he realized that bush was kickin his ass on his lack of his commitments to a middle eastern solution and he also realized that americans support the bush action in huge numbers. yup you saw that same exact thing i did. suddenly when bush pressed the issue kerry was hammering the ill kill the terrorists button as hard as he could. but mr. kerry what happened to our weapon of negotiation max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan .

well said jim -- budd pres. bush john kerry has changed his position on the iraq war so many times he could debate himself. b.c. and lose. as a catholic i am embarrassed of mr. kerry. in the debate he said he was a catholic and an altar boy lest i remind you that satin was an angel before he was a devil. was his proclamation supposed to mean something like another ribbon on his chest you can trust me im a catholic... you cannot be a true catholic and support abortion period. mr. kerry has stated he doesnt like abortion but cant push his views on the citizens of the us. then i say dont vote at all abstain. but mr. kerry has voted to continue abortion and for state funded abortions. even partial-birth abortions. do you people really know what a partial-birth abortion is let me explain first you do know abortion even full term 9 months is legal in this country. do you know what breach birth is thats when the baby comes out of the womb feet first.. this is a very dangerous for both the baby and the mother. since recorded time doctors would do all they could to turn the baby so it comes out head first. its like dragging a christmas tree through the forest while holding it from the top of the tree each branch gets caught on every other tree. in partial-birth abortion the baby is forced to come out feet first again this can be life threatening for the mother once the baby is completely out of the womb except for its head it is held there while the doctor inserts a scissors like instrument through the back of the neck into the childs brain killing the child. then inserts a suction vacuum cleaner tube in and sucks out the brain then they pull the baby the rest of the way out of the mothers womb. if the doctor slips and the babys head comes out of the womb before he sucks the brain out legally he can not then kill the baby the baby is legally born. .but i am to understand this happens frequently in abortion clinics. i ask you how can any one defend this out right murder of an innocent child can anyone justify this no certainly not. dont believe me ask any doctor to show you where i am wrong. he cant. the catholic faith as well as natural law instructs us that this is immoral and wrong and a grievous sin. no true catholic can participate in an abortion not a mother doctor nurse boyfriend not even a elected official who just votes in a positive way that allows abortions to occur a n d if you are a true catholic you can not vote for a candidate who publicly supports or votes in favor of abortions. otherwise you aint a catholic a real catholic. god bless jim +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ john z kerry wrote kerry was asked to state his position on abortion. as expected in order not to anger his base kerry spun dodged bobbed distorted misrepresented and outright lied all so as not to anger his base. kerry never did state his position just made excuses and lied. bushs reply was a zinger did anybody understand what he kerry just said bush then clearly in so many words stated his position against abortion. is that sound i hear catholic democrats staying home this time or maybe even voting for bush poor dems sooooooo many special interest groups they are terrified of angering. john z kerry president t-bone steak houses .

in my honest personal opinion i am a person of unproven abilities and / or knowledge and a self-confessed group troll. therefore i suggest everything i offer as an answer in any response to be accepted only after thoroughly being tested and checked against known sources. sure troll-boy in your dreams . . so how come you have 3 or more people pointing out your screw ups all the time and i rarely get corrected by anyone gee its because you dont know anything. what 3 are you talking about as if you dont know another lie troll-boy i simply asked who and once again you were unable to answer how typical. i know who they are and so do you. no i dont now answer the question. spin and duck troll boy but you still made the implication. nope that was you but if you say im wrong prove it. this is not a long thread show me where. you claim youre not implying it so you prove youre not. lol sorry budd but you were the one who made the accusation. i simply said that you were once again lying and wrong. in this countyr people are innocent until proven guilty. you accused me i denied it and now you must either prove it or shup up. well as your so fond of pointing out when you need to cover your butt again this is the internet. now just for the fun of oit back up your point for once troll. oh i see you are trying to cover your butt. from what i can see you have a hell of a lot to cover. no tommy-troll you lose. drag racing generally only allows one hour between rounds to make repairs re-tune or whatever. the turbo enthusiates will change a compressor a scroll a core a complete turbo or adjust a wastegate in that time period. a supercharger car has the same restrictions. heck aa/fd guys do a complete overhaul in that time frame. that is exactly my point they can do an entire overhaul in an hour. are you now saying that a pulley swap is at the same difficulty level and requires the same tools as an engine overhaul. who is talking about drag racing anyway we are talking about street cars here and the people who own them. sorry budd but you really tangled yourself up in your spin this time. no troll-boy in your effort to cover your butt you missed the point that changing a turbos output is doable at home and it doesnt take a rocket scientist . . .with training you could even do it. the only one twisting to cover their butt is you. i never said that it couldnt be done only that it was harder than changing a set of pulleys and therefore not in the same modificatin class. spin all you want you are still full of it and wrong. thats exactly where you lose the point and the discussion . . .it isnt any harder to do. hahahahahaha yea right. please give a step by step description of each. point its not as difficult as you in your lack of knowledge or experience claim. i didnt say that it was. what i said despite your spin was that rebuilding a turbo is more difficult than swapping out a set of pulleys. and my point is that you dont know what youre talking about again. but the only point you have budd is on the top of your head. i said that the two are not in the same modification class and you know it but feel free to keep spinning its fun to watch. yes they are no matter how you try to spin it. stay on topic troll or shut up. you are really beginnig to show your lack of knowlege here budd. lol where did i say i worked for dodge tommy-troll oh my error sorry about that. you said that you spent 6 months as the mopar v-8 tech on a turbocharging site. i thought that you had actual experience. i guess thats why you are hear now not knowing what actually regulates boost pressure. did that site shut down now please explain how the waste gate effects spool up times. unlike you i know of more than one way to regulate boost on turbo centrifugal and positive displacement systems. lol really name a few and stick with turbos. lol ok one radiator pressure caps. figure out how. hahahahahahahaha complete bs. explain why you think it doesnt effect spooling time. i knw why it doesnt. explain why you think it does. and why doesnt it like i said before you made the claim. now eother nback it up or admit to your error. and you say that i dont learn lol. and your knowledge of automotive mechanics is as usual underwhelming. and yet superior to yours in many areas. lol name a couple dozen troll-boy. i have yet to see any praises for your answers to questions. a couple dozen what i hve been thanked by many newbies in here. lol yeah right ... and they disappear because your inaccuracy cost them a ton of money and they got mad enough to not come back again. no they either got what they came for or they got tired of hearing shit from people like you. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not

need i say more ill bear that in mind when im looking for a good debater. oh and then theres another unbias opinion. lockhart debate consensus a draw unbeknownst to kerry adviser mike mccurry a c-span camera quietly followed mccurry as he found kerry adviser joe lockhart on spin alley floor and asked him his impression of the debate. lockhart candidly said to mccurry the consensus is it was a draw. .

dakota wrote dakota wrote ok so going back to my original question... does anyone know what the gear ratios are in the 1997 dakota v6 manual transmission http//dodgeram.org/tech/transmission/nv3500spec.htm thanks for posting this link. they mention that the nv3500 was used with the 3.9l v6 but that was in the ram application. im still not entirely sure if thats whats in my 1997 v6 dakota. there was another 5-speed manual transmission used in the late 90s dodge trucks called ax-15 which may be what i have. if anyone knows for sure please let me know... http//www.dakota-truck.net/infosheet.html says ax-15 through 1996. http//www.truckworld.com/truck-tests/1996-dodge-dakota/1996-dodge-dakota.html says the five-speed manual choices are the as82 and heavier-duty nv3500 v-8 only for 1997. so youve made progress its an as82. .

i also have the same occasional noise on my 96 club cab. dont know about you but i have those plastic window shades around the front windows they have a small hole that allows air to blow thru so as not to blow them off ..i assume. when driving into a wind or at high speeds it will sometimes vibrate or sound like blowing across a bottle but it doesnt do it all the time. not sure if there is a fix hi all anyone ever hear of this problem i just picked up the sweetest 96 dakota club cab with a real nice leer canopy. no problems i even hassled the dealer until he replaced the front brakes before i bought it. so then im driving home on the freeway and above 75mph i hear this crazy vibrating moaning/groaning sound. i knew it wasnt a mechanical noise because it was just too resonant. at first i figured it was harmonics from the wind beating between cab & canopy. but then i put a hand on the drivers side window and it was vibrating like the reed in a woodwind instrument. as soon as i cracked the window it went away. put it back up and at speeds above 75 this is l.a. after all - if the freeway is clear people are known to do 90 the window hums like the paper in a kazoo. any ideas on a fix the window channel felt is in great shape and the power window regulator seems to be pushing the window all the way up. no sounds of wind leaking thru just a crazy resonance with the wind. also im selling the leer canopy. its white and will fit a short-bed or a club cab model. $150 pick it up in the l.a. area. email me at patbsutton@hotmail.com .

of course you did not watch the fox channel report on it . . . it was the only unbiased report. -- budd pres. bush john kerry has changed his position on the iraq war so many times he could debate himself. b.c. and lose. of course you would discredit this debate your guy lost and every poll says so. the fact is that kerry kept his cool and answered clearly while bush looked angry at times and avoided some questions and this was his bushs strongest subject. i now look forward to the next two debates. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving hard core dems/kerry fans will always say that and reps will say bush kicked ass. same as every debate. two points cracked me up though. kerrys talk about n. koreas plutonium and kerrys talking about bushs iran embargo. plutonium bushs embargo lol but bush had his moments too. same as any debate just a bunch of nothing from both sides. tbone wrote need i say more -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

most of the aftermarket radios have a wire that provides 12 volts to actuate the power antenna and/or amplifier contactor relay. it is limited to about 160 milliamperes 1/6 amp of load. if your antenna or amp requires direct application of 12 volts youll need a relay to handle the current. the last one i bought was a 30-amp relay actuated by 120 milliamperes. theyre about an inch square and $5.65 from radio shack. if you need the part number let me know. rick hi i must have the same problem. just changed to an aftermarket radio and the sound in the back is now only thru the tweeters. i suspect that my infinity amp isnt being powered on. there is a 2 wire plug with 3v on both wires. and a black ground type plug that went on a quick connect terminal but it is not continuous with ground. how do i wire the amp connector doesnt seem to be any mention in the reciever manual. - miles .
