Q: subject ot-bereavement fare on airlines from roger c. covalt rogercovalt@hotmail.com date 1/11/2004 634 pm eastern standard time message-id 48n300hd5nq1g73pqfo25bvuiolqqe00ta@4ax.com the wifes grandfather just died and im checking out the airfares. no mention of a lower bereavement fare. i know in the past some airlines have offered bereavement fares but im also heard that they really arent a savings. does anyone have any feedback on this thanks roger covalt rogerxxcovalt@hotmail.com thay do have special fares for bereavements. you have to call the airline directly. they arent listed on the web sites. if southwest airlines is near you check them out they are running really low interent special right now. .

the wifes grandfather just died and im checking out the airfares. no mention of a lower bereavement fare. i know in the past some airlines have offered bereavement fares but im also heard that they really arent a savings. roger first you have my condolences secondly the last time i used a bereavement fare a few years ago now i had to buy the ticket at a regular price then i had to furnish a copy of the death certificate to the airline and they credited my credit card some amount. i cant remember the % i dealt with the airlines directly. probably went to the airport to buy the ticket. i dont remember they also gave us credit on my wifes ticket. she had went about 3 weeks earlier to take care of her mother who was dying. thirdly i cant believe the useless other posts you received on this subject ill start watching reality tv shows when i can vote people off the planet. .
