rammer wrote anything yet on the outcome of the noise i have the same problem. topcop wrote 2006 dodge ram 1500 with 3000 miles. anytime the shifter is put into park a loud clunk is heard from the transmission/driveshaft area as if someone were hitting it with a small hammer. the dealer said this is normal but it does not sound normal nor does it do it every time. anyone have or know of a similar problem if so what was the remedy thanks i have nothing but problems since the day i bought my 2006 dodge ram1500 slt at just 500 mile i took it into the shop and they said it was some kind of electrical problem and 10 days later i picked it up and they had replaced all the injectors and then the horn light on the dash would come on and i would have to drive my truck 50 miles with the horn and lights going off and took it back and they told me they saw the codes but cant do anything about it. now there is a noice when i put it in park and it was told to me that it is normal and know the rear end does nothing but shake. and chrysler will do nothing to help me so know i have an attorney. and even my husband said it is not normal and he is a mechanic. .

on sun 9 apr 2006 215850 -0400 nosey kfrei43@removethis.hotmail.com wrote think what you want but it is caused by in stabilty in the front axle. if is cause by caster/camber/toe alignment issues and when the right combo is acchieved oscillation can set it and get quite violent at times. i would also check you front axles pivot pins for tightness given its age and the fact that there is a 1300lb motor on front riding on it too which does not help its lifespan either. you need to find the cause and cure it correctly. most often the track bar *is* the cause and the lukes link or dt pro fab kit *is* the way to cure it correctly. it is the way to put a bandaid on it not cure it. you must treat the cause not the symptoms. rather than trying to keep a unstable frontend to woobling through tigher linkages you need to make frontend stable to begin with. while it is truw that modern fighter aircraft are made to be dynamically unstable for quicker control input responce you do not whant a dynaicaly unstable front end on you 4x4. it need to be stabilized on its own and when so stabiled when linkage looseness occusr the steering gets sloppy no wobbly. ----------------- the snoman www.thesnoman.com .
