what alternative where well in the short term we would have to continue purchasing from our current suppliers. speeding up the r&d on alternative fuel/energy is feasible. there are hybrids available now which is a good start. our government can go a long way in supporting the advancing of alternative energy. i am not a geologist but there is oil in other places other than one of the most beautiful places on earth ... alaska. drilling there is a mistake environmentally. you want to see beauty canon city co and its environs moab ut and its arches south central indiana and the hardwood forests in the fall a sunset on tin can beach in so cal. . . .ya wanna talk beauty ive seen it. my folks use to live in provo. i have been to moab and yes it is pretty although in my opinion it doesnt hold a candle to any part of alaska. in fact i have been all of the places you listed except indiana. your comments begs the question ... do you want to see those places drilled for 6 months worth of oil and who wrote the book environmentalists think of it like this if there was as little oil as your book claimed then trucking the crude would have been a cheaper option than building that huge pipeline. no offense but apparently you have no reference to refer to on your claim. my reference may indeed be an environmentalist but does that mean his research is pointless in order for you to listen does the book have to written by an oil tycoon ... or a republican perhaps and your info has a definite liberal bias. kerry is getting his monies fron the heinz family. thats better than an oil source not to me. now this is funny. ketchup isnt ruining the water we drink and air we breathe. so yes its a better source. first a viable energy source needs to be developed discovered invented or currently nothing can do the job like oil. you need to remember that most of the sources being touted today were replaced by oil not too long ago. agreed ... so we should stop and use up all of the oil ... right what happens when its gone wont be such a great source of energy then will it long term thinking when it comes to energy and fiscal responsibility evades most republicans ... if clinton had put that surplus during his administration toward the national debt it wouldnt be as large today as it is. but in reality there was no surplus. ; riiightttt ... and he didnt balance the budget or pay down the debt either right www.georgewbush.com perhaps as for myself i sleep better knowing saddam is no longer in power. now if we could catch the leasders of the al queda . . . i agree completely on the latter. i never lost any sleep on the former ... only in dreams only in dreams. im from the generation that began the whole environmental stuff and were no closer than we were 30 years ago. i disagree. we are closer ... but we could even closer if we had the proper leadership. just answer this honestly ... which candidate is better suited to lead america and the world in finding an alternative energy bush or kerry craig c. .

so.. factcheck.org had it wrong and kerry used it and roy is distorting it himself.. read that again. factcheck noted that at the time of their assertion no timber was owned. however now at the time of bushs statement a timber company is owned. while factcheck made the effort to clarify the situation bush flat out lied. i read most of their articles and it appears to me that they are strongly biased toward kery. contrary to that opinion one should look at what is being said. first off factcheck spend an entire article oct 4th beating up bush on his claims about kerrys healthcare plan. thus your claim of bias is busted. second kerry has repeatedly flipflopped position most notably saying that the war in irag was the wrong place time and war but concluding that the world was a better place without saddam hussein. without explaination this is definitely a contradiction in opinions both held by senator kerry. there are other contradictions such as the claim that bush lost jobs overseas which forgets that clinton a democrat signed the nafta treaty. another kerry claim that fails under scrutiny is that of outsourcing the capture of bin laden. in the long history of u.s. pursuit of bin laden most of it was during democratic presidency. during that time the capture/killing of bin laden was stopped several times for various reasons. while the merit of those reasons could be debated its clear that the man in power be it clinton or bush looks at more facts than simply who is putting the little red dot on bin ladens forehead. thus it is easy to see why kerry provides more material for correction to the people at factcheck. the ad claims kerry has a 30-year record of supporting cuts in defense and intelligence misleading charges that weve de-bunked before. this is true because kerry has only been a senator for 19 years. further its true because while they claim kerry voted for the budgets. this doesnt indicate any discussion on the amounts of the budget which comes prior to the vote. on this point i tend to agree with you they do seem to side with kerry. it also accuses kerry of endlessly changing positions on iraq a claim that is without factual basis. factcheck is correct kerry has not changed his position on iraq. read his qoute on factcheck and follow along..... let there be no doubt or confusion about where we stand on this. i will support a multilateral effort to disarm him saddam by force if we ever exhaust those other options as the president has promised but i will not support a unilateral u.s. war against iraq unless that threat is imminent and the multilateral effort has not proven possible under any circumstances. kerrys position is the same now. here is the problem with kerrys position its a full year later. for a person who claims he is able to change position unlike bush as kerry accuses he has forgotten that we are in a very different position. thus factcheck is correct and kerry is foolishly holding position which contradicts his claim of modifying his position with new information. max life liberty and the pursuit of any jackass that threatens it. embellished usnavy slogan .
