i wouldnt do it. as the previous poster mentioned the two *must be* identically sized electrically - not necessarily physically but likely would be if the electrical parameters are identically matched. lead-acid batteries most batteries for that matter do not play well together when bridged together in parallel + to + and - to - together they will also present an unexpected load to your alternator and voltage regulator. i profess no expertise but i am an industrial electrician manufacturing automation and i know just enough about dc power to not tamper with the design of a vehicle electrical system. if you really want two batteries you need to provide some high current i.e. 400-amp steering diodes for isolation so the batteries can each service the working load and each receive a charge more or less separately without being able to see each other electrically and cross-charging or cross-discharging each other. then of course theres that nagging little problem with the 0.6v average forward voltage drop across each diode. your 12v electrical system is all of a sudden an 11.4v electrical system. mygodisthereanamenotchosen@yahoo.com writes the cost isnt the issue imo. its using 2 batteries that are not used to being hooked to eachother. if youre going to run 2 batteries then should be a matched pair in brand age and cca. otherwise things could go badly and end up costing you 2 more new batteries. ive come up with a second battery. im wondering about the cost of installing the second battery setup in my 99 ram. i know there are stock parts available. ken .

on thu 5 feb 2004 171357 -0500 admin@ncgcanada.com wrote could be fuel related. if you have a fuel pressure gauge then i would check thanks ill replace the fuel filter since its not that big a deal. i cant see it being the pump or the filter as it works fine once started. it idles and runs fine just needs a lot of encouragement to fire up. maybe its just showing its cantankerous female side. g -- kind regards jenny and her tribe of survivors. .
