been thinking about one that can be moved from car to truck easily. anybody have any thoughts or opinions based on actual experience tia roy iirc somebody stated that real men dont need no navigation system. i think i can even find the thread if i have to...vbg that would have been me. but this is for sue. to keep her awake and alert. what brought this about was our last trip home. 18 hours after leaving fl 10pm we are on the jersey pike /i95 moving with the traffic flow at 75mph no cops cb is silent no problem. anyway shes watching for the garden state parkway exit off of the little bear left that the pike does. or so i thought anyway we come to a halt the cb is screaming accident soccor game got out 20 mile back up. i look at her sound asleep! wtf!! i start looking around and know im fucked im on i95 about 10 miles from the friggin george washington bridge!! the last place on earth ya want to be late sat. night. 2 hours later we cross the bridge and head for conn. it really sucked. so admitting im a little older im not going through that bs again. so the nav system. i want ya to notice i did the manly thing and blamed it all on sue.g other than that ive only play with the oem so i cant help you there. does the machine have a nav system roy denny .

hello everyone i found another post on dodgetalk.com on what else could be the problem. check this out. ....and i quote 99 durango @48k miles with 3 leaking freeze plugs within a week of my dealer replacing my water pump thermostat and gaskets because of a leak at the thermostat housing and pump . now back at the dealership service department one service person mentioned that chrysler had a bad batch of freeze plugs and that probably explains my plugs going bad so soon. another person at the same dealer said that some of the durangos were assembled in mexico and that the water that was used in the cooling system when the vehicles left the plant for the u.s. was bad. needless to say now i hear that my extended warranty does not cover freeze plugs that the tranny has to come out and that im looking at about $1k minimum on the repair. anyone else run into this situation so early in the life of a durango v8 is it chronic to the model or just my vehicle that is going south taking my wallet with it .

suddenly without warning mike exclaimed 09-sep-06 936 pm suddenly without warning mike exclaimed 09-sep-06 819 am sounds like it could be a bad ignition switch. next time the problem occurs wiggle the ignition switch or turn it off and then back on. if everything starts working again i would suspect bad contacts in the ignition switch. yup thats *exactly* what it is. i wiggled the ignition switch and the radio went off. wiggled again came back on. any possibility this could be a loose wire if not please check your email... jmc not really on the loose wire. the contacts inside the ignition switch get worn with age. ok. did you see my email jmc errrr... wrong mike jmc.... but i did ;^..... did you see your email mike .

suddenly without warning mike exclaimed 09-sep-06 819 am sigh when it rains it pours. my hubby took the day off and while driving the truck first the radio intermittently cut out display and sound... driving it a bit later the radio cut out again then completely and he noticed the turn signals also would not work. went home turned truck off called dealer drove it over to the dealer later and all was working fine. of course since it was fine upon arrival dealer wouldnt even look at it but said that turning it off and back on may have fixed the error darn rebooting the truck fixes it wow. when i got home i looked for codes but no new ones. any clue what this could be my understanding is the radio and turn signals are on two separate circuits... so why would they both go out at the same time. as it was daylight we dont know if any other lights were affected. the recall concerning rerouting the wiring under the clutch was just done last week... any help appreciated. we thought maybe it was migrating water as a power hose was used on it last week by the dealer to clear off the radiator fluid all over the drivers side of the engine... jmc sounds like it could be a bad ignition switch. next time the problem occurs wiggle the ignition switch or turn it off and then back on. if everything starts working again i would suspect bad contacts in the ignition switch. hmmm. possibility. yesterday i turned the truck completely off and immediately switched it back to just aux so hubby could listen to the radio and the engine came back on it hadnt quite stopped yet. could that be a symptom of a bad switch too or just computer confusion caused by an indecisive driver jmc.
