Interesting observation for those CTD owners

Q: common rail pump by allowing it to cavitate. there apparently is no low fuel pressure detection with this truck. undoubtedly this is the cause of so many pump failures we all hear about. well yes but no. the 2nd gen trucks 98.5 to 02 with the vp44 pump are very sensitive to lack of fuel. the cp3 pump on the common-rail trucks is much more tolerant of low fuel pressure and failure of these pumps have been very few and far between compared to the vp44 failures. however - you just found out how barely adequate the stock fuel pump is for these engines. when adding power upgrades that deliver more fuel you really need to do something about the fuel system to keep the cp3 fed with fuel. i would highly suggest one of the available pusher pump kits for your truck. a normal running pressure of 6psi doesnt leave a lot of room for error. to compare i run a fass system on my truck which idles at 17psi and at wot with about 600hp wont drop below about 12psi. .

roy wrote huh i support our troops how do you support our troops they want to succeed at their job. your support is for them to withdraw which is to surrender. sorry roy i do not believe they want your kind of support which is not support at all. you want them to fail which is the only thing you believe they can do. that is not support. here is a quote in the today from a col. on the ground in iraq. here on the ground our job is not done said col. james brown commander of the 56th brigade combat team when asked about murthas comments during a weekly briefing that american field commanders routinely give to pentagon reporters. speaking from a u.s. logistics base at balad north of baghdad two days before his scheduled return to texas brown said we have to finish the job that we began here. its important for the security of this nation. now roy do you support this col who is a member of our armed forces or not .

markansas859 wrote see http//inlinediesel.com/forum/topic.asptopicid=121 for pictures. my wife had just left a stop sign and was driving approximately 30mph in a 35mph zone on a city street. a truck pulling out of a bank parking lot somehow didnt see my wife in her quad cab long bed 1 ton truck and he t-boned her. i used to do insurance..... if the idiot was coming off a private lot onto a public street you should have him by the short hairs hold his insurance companys feet to the fire true. and as a 21 year police veteran in texas the guy was at fault. i know the accident didnt occur in texas. but here a driver is required to come to a complete stop when exiting a private drive includes parking lots. then pull out onto the street only when safe to do so. it sounds as if the moron never stopped. as for the ticket issue. here in texas we dont issue traffic tickets either if an officer does not witness the accident or violation. now if there is an injury or death then thats a different story. an officer will write tickets or make an arrest in those cases. an officer also does not find fault in an accident. although there is a space on the accident report for officers opinion as to who caused the accident. in texas an accident is considered a civil matter and therefore your insurance companies work it out between themselves. they have their own investigators to do this. the police only are there to gather facts and to deal with the traffic nightmares that usually occur with an accident. on a side note the worst thing i have ever heard as an officer is while working an accident on a major highway. the squeeling of brakes will make you run and jump for cover and will make a certain part of your anatomy pucker up. people just do not pay attention to what they are doing. bob .

mrmjb wrote thanks to all for the input on my problem. i have discovered that the truck had been run hot. i ran a quart of tranny fluid in it for about 30 miles to flush it. when i got into it there was some stuff on the pump screen and the oil filter weighed about twice what any other one that ive removed. under the valve covers was where all the heave stuff was about 1/2 thick and cooked on the inside the covers. i will be flushing it a couple more times to see what happens. anyone got any other ideas. thanks my suggestion is you clean out manually what you can and then for next several changes use and good light weight oillike 5w30 and change oil and filter every 1000 to 1500 miles top sooner if oil gets really dirty and not flush it quickly because when you do you can overwhelm filter and then in plugs up and bypass the gritty oil through bearings. i have seen engines damaged by quick flushes. -- ----------------- www.thesnoman.com .

maybe that trailer and load kept him from being able to stop. which would further demonstrate his level of negligence. even if your wife thinks it will pass imo you would be a fool not to at the very least document this pain by a visit to either a doctor or the er. she an icu rn and while at work tonight she plans on getting checked out. that was 23 years ago she is still suffering from the damage done in that tiny little accident and its contiuned to worsen. ouch........sorry to hear it. youre lucky she was able to get it in under workmans comp. any dealings ive had with workmans comp for my employees has always been like dealing with the irs.....you can just feel their evil. - -- nathan w. collier http//utilityoffroad.com http//inlinediesel.com http//7slotgrille.com http//bighornrefrigeration.com .

no one was injured. why do you need an attorney what law did he break did he run a stop sign did he run a red light was he speeding if the police did not witness any broken laws or the accident it is unlikely that they would issue a summons. no one likes bondo. unless the truck is totalled or you are willing to sell it get used to it. the pillar has minimal damage that can repaired. why do you want a new one unless you are willing to pay the difference neither insurance company is required to replace a repairable part. the bank wont care what condition your truck is in. they will still want their payment. im pretty sure there is no bondo exclusion in your loan agreement. the sun is usually more of a problem at dawn and dusk. it if was noon and the sun was overhead the sun is a non-issue. sorry to sound pesimistic but accidents happen. your insurance company should provide you with an attorney if there is any litigation. why do you have one already you paid a premium for your insurance companys help during an accident. ask them these questions. theres no reason to hire an attorney of your own. .

budd cochran wrote lets take a look joe . . . . the ethernet port on the pc is plugged into the cable modem the ethernet to cable modem thru bandpass filters is connected to the big silvery wire thingy on the big tall wooden fence post in the neighborss yard and then it goes out of sight in both directions but im told it goes to the company that supplies my cable tv precis communications up in price ut. so i have both cable and dsl and they come into my home on the same 75 ohm tv cable. what do i have if not cable dsl as advertised by precis i believe the difference is this. cable internet is through cable tv lines. dsl is through digital phone lines. .
