depending on how hard you tap you run the risk of destroying the main thrust bearing. not a good idea. if its anything like chryco v8s just use a longer bolt with a washer on it. to get it started then use the regular bolt to seat it. the mopar harmonic balancer is not a press fit as a chevy is it depends on how much room you have will taping on it with a hammer work the press tool makes it much a dyslexic man walks into a bra. .
