Q: amazin what you can learn here if you just tell us the make model and year.... oh yeah and color! hey colors important. if for example it was a solar yellow truck then the only way to remove the console is to cut the roof with a sawzall. yeah i dont much care for the solar yellow .

id be curious to see what a new fuel filter would do. the filter in now may allow enough fuel to cruise at 70 on flat surfaces but the additional fuel required to make the hill might starve it although id suspect this more if it was carbureted. possibly a restricted exhaust most exh shops will check that for free. .

i am not impressed with mine either... the wifes 94 saturn has better lights... m. earthman wrote is it my imagination or do the headlights on my 2500 leave a little to be desired even with the high beams it seems they are not that bright. so i guess my question is if this is the case how do you beef them up or is it my imagination and old age is affecting my eyes... i do have fog lights but they dont do anything for distance. most lights are rather underwhelming. a lot may have to do with the fact that the truck is relatively tall compared to a sedan so in order to keep form blinding oncoming traffic they are shaped to not go very high. sometimes i even flick my lights off and on just to see if they are actually on or burnt out. sure enough they are both lit. you could always be an ass and adjust your lights up so they are aimed right .

the last 3 trucks ive owned 99 1500 02 1500 & 05 1500 i always buy zenon lights for both the driving lights and fog lights and have the dealer put them in before i pick the truck up. i think the light is brighter and it certainly is whiter. i also think it makes the truck look better by getting rid of that yellowish look. in daylight with the truck off they look bluish and i think that looks good with a black truck. the brand ive been buying is called euro lights and cost about $40 a set canadian. mind you though they dont last very long. you can pick them up at any aftermarket auto specialty shop. in case you havent replaced your headlight bulbs yet read the manual...you have to take the whole headlight assembly out. theres one screw that youll need a long extension on the outboard side. the rest are straight forward. over the years ive probably replaced the bulbs a dozen or so times and that was just on my 02 ram. mind you i changed them for a lower wattage after a few sets 55w i think and they last much longer. interestingly the mechanic who changed the bulbs on my 05 just removed the fuse box out of the way. maybe ill try that approach next time. bjs .
