Q: im getting a little bit of a vibration through my clutch pedal. its a brand new clutch by the way. i just got it a few days ago. the vibration is barely noticeable. when i press the clutch pedal to shift a gear thats when i notice the slight vibration. its as if i can feel the engine vibration through the clutch pedal slightly. is this normal when you install a new clutch or is it uncommon would this vibration lessen after a while i spent $200 on labor and $80 for the part. i bought the kit which came with a new clutch disc pressure plate and release bearing. overall im not 100% happy due to the vibration. sucks spending $280 and not being happy. i think i jumped the gun by replacing the old clutch. i just figured that since the old clutch was 8 years old and i was getting some of vibration when releasing the clutch pedal coming off 1rst gear that i should change it. if i could go back in time i wouldve just left the old clutch until it broke and saved me the $280. this is a perfect example of if it aint broke dont fix it. by the way what exactly wears out on the clutch how do you know when a pressure plate is worn out i think my old pressure plate was worn out but my clutch disc wasnt. when i looked at my old pressure plate horizontally i noticed the fingers werent visible from the top as iooked at it horizontally. on the new pressure plate when i looked at it horizontally i did see the fingers sticking out from over the top of plate a little which im assuming means my old one was worn. am i correct in assuming this means my old pressure plate was worn thanks and happy thanksgiving. .
