Q: i got it now.............you guys are practicing for point-counter point for the next edition of saturday night live right just for fun which one is dan and which of you is jane on thu 6 sep 2007 092245 -0400 tbone tbonenospam@nc.rr.com wrote tbone wrote hell my first pc xt clone had a scsi drive. sure it did. yep all 20mbs of it. i must say miles you really are too funny. do you really believe this complete crap ibm has been in business for a long time and was a major computer manufacturer long before the pc. totally different markets. lol get real miles. they were in business a long time before this and know how to protect themselves. ibm went into a market they had no experience in and did so with the same mentality that worked for their other markets...and failed. i agree with you here but that had nothing to do with the clones or the fact that ibm designed it as an open system. actually the fact that they designed it as an open system and their lack of experience dealing with the retail consumer market is the primary reason for the success of the clones. i am well aware of their mca bus. the problem is that the clone manufacturers stole reverse engineered ibms bios and then changed it enough to make it not a copy and used it to steal ibms system board much faster than ibm expected. huh you already stated earlier that ibm intended their pc to be open platform. that is correct. now youre saying someone stole it faster than ibm wanted them too no i said that others stole their tech and did it much faster than ibm expected. ibm expected companies to design their own system boards and that they would have to compete with them and just about any company in an open system has to expect that some of their tech will be borrowed stolen and used in some way by the competition but not to the level that the early clone manufacturers did. thats an odd marketing plan...plan for others to steal it but only after a set amount of time. once again miles you really act like you dont know wtf you are talking about with your complete lack of real world business experience. they knew that they would have to compete with other system board manufacturers and other system builders with some of their tech being borrowed to do it as that is the way that it is in an open system but they didnt expect it to happen so fast and with basically outright theft of their bios and system board design. lol one year is a huge amount of time in the pc world even back then. not for a totally new product it sure isnt. once again miles you show that you dont know wtf you are talking about. pcs were around for years before the ibm pc xt hit the market. people businesses were just looking for the right product and the pc xt was it. do you really need me to supply you with links for this being one of the first and being the first are not the same thing. lol...geez the first 3 clones out were within a couple months of each other. whatever tom! columbia was first but they were a puny company with low sales so was 2nd out eagle. compaq was the 3rd and sold nationwide rather well. and as i said some of the early clones were junk. even when compaq came out it didnt sweep past ibm in sales and if you think different prove it. now it is you that has become misleading. graphics adapters and sound cards were only jewelry on the pig at the time and ibm created the tech for the pig. ibm created their graphics card and clone makers created their own shortly after...with far more capabilities. ibm then stopped their own production of graphics cards and bought herculese technology. which is exactly what ibm wanted and why they designed it as an open system so they could build it with off of the shelf parts such as drive controllers video modems and the like. once again miles you prove all of my points for me thanks again. but thats about all they had and ibm still looks as strong as ever. oh really now ibms pc sales stalled and they sold their line completely years ago. i was talking about the company miles and i think that you knew that. face it miles you are wrong here and i really just dont have the time to keep playing with you and making you dance. .

but to your point there still quite a few people that are stupid enough to take the chance. i read of deadly force in the dallas paper at least twice a week ... i read about deadly force here in nj just about every day.... the only problem is its always the bad guys projecting said deadly force. in nj ccw means criminals carry weapons .

just wanted to thank you guys for the reply on my 2000 ram that was blowing a fuse. i still could not find the problems so i went to justanswerdotcom and a dodge tech led me right to it. he felt is was a short along the wiring harness somewhere..he was right! it was a short caused by the air filter screw aftermarket airfilter . a zip-tie holding the wiring harness above it broke and the harness was drooping and rubbed against it. when i pushed down on it while the engine was running the fuse blew again. replaced zip tie taped up the wires and re-secured the harness--- good to go ! .

i downloaded the service manual and the brake switch/stop lamp harness is wired as 1. fused b+ 2. brake lamp switch output 3. s/c brake switch output 4. s/c supply 5. ground 6. brake switch signal if this is correct then i assume i tap into #6 correct no thats the signal wire to the pcm. you want to tap into #2 which is the +12v output. if you have the full service manual wiring diagrams take a look at the trailer tow diagram. youll see that the brake lamp switch output goes to the electric brake connector. .

no existing hookups that i can use then can anybody tell me which wire coming out of the brake switch that i should be connecting the brake controller to i dont have any specific wiring diagram for the dakotas but assuming its the same switch as used on the rams no reason it wouldnt be then you want to tap into pin #5 on the brake switch connector. pin #6 should be +12v hot all the time and obviously pin 5 is right next to it. pin 5 should read +12v when you step on the brake pedal. 2. is there a convenient opening in the firewall to pass the blue wire through the clutch grommet is a favorite pass-thru to use for running wires assuming you have an automatic - it will be either a sealed rubber plug or a plastic cover plate. if its a plug just poke a hole through it. if its a plate you could either just drill through it or it should unbolt then you can drill it and install a grommet more easily. .

on sat 8 sep 2007 201643 -0400 tbone tbonenospam@nc.rr.com wrote that is exactly what its supposed to do. that output is for the lights which is either on or off. yes and it is the electronic vrake controller that use this as a trigger singal to operate. there is two classes of controller too one is striagth programable electric that you adjust and rate rate of application and max effort. the second kind is a proportional kind that sences vechile motion/decelleration and aplies brakes to trailer accordingly based on programming. the propertional kind seems to be more popular. both have there ups and downs. the first kind can be mounted anywhere the second kind have to be aligned with vehicles axis of motion and some of these are self levleing and some are not. ----------------- thesnoman.com .

ive never liked michelin tires. i had a michelin tire come apart on my old s-10 pickup. a flap of tread just peeled away from the tire casing. good thing i was driving slow it was a front tire. the last michelin tires i owned were the ones the factory installed on my 99 ram. i only got 25000 miles out of them. i sure hope they changed their ways in the past 8 years. as per everyones advice here i just put 4 michelin ltx m/s tires on my wifes expedition. peer pressure sucks. you guys better be right. ;^ -- ken .

nobody was making legal duplicates of atari 800s apple iis trs 80s commodore c64s or amigas. do you really think that all of these new companies knew more about building computers and protecting themselves than ibm. you are really sounding like an idiot. having used all the above is it any surprise that nobody tried to clone any of the above. i remember in elementary school using trash 80s with the tape drive. and i had the atari 800xl which was pretty much a game console with a keyboard grafted to it. the commodore and the amiga were little better as i remember and as much as i hate to admit of the bunch only the apple was useful. .

its not just mexicans you have to worry about. last winter friends of ours lost out of the parking lot of the motel they were staying at 3 pick ups three snowmobile trailers and a total of seven snowmobiles. cops figure that by the time they woke up and saw they were gone they were half way to a container ship in canada. our friend got told that in pittsburg nh alone there are three hundred trucks stolen a year. not bad for a town were the moose out number the people. the cops told them that the newer trucks with remote door locks were the must common because the thieves use a dealer master key. on sep 6 616 pm geekboy g...@boy.com wrote on sep 5 1032 pm geekboy g...@boy.com wrote i have not been on here in a while because i had not much of a reason to anymore. some fuckers decided they need my truck more than i did check them alarms and get a lojack! dude sorry to hear about the truck. any word on it or if you have gotten it back what shape is it in ewmwmbwe though dodge or not there is no reason not to be in here. heck no. the cops not even looking for it. i have since learned that the cops not even looking for it. seems there is high auto theft around here due to proximity to mexico. and the mexicans love to steal big trucks to haul their stash of drugs in. seems the ford f250 is the most popular. average of 600 per year are taken. yeah man i know what you mean i am not that far from mexico either and there a problem with that here also. .
