so the dealer in quincy il just reprogrammed the computer so it wouldnt lock up until i get to 52 mph. at 51 mph it dwnshifts. it now bangs in third gear. leave well enough alone. just back off a little on the gas or give it more gas the vibration will quit. so far i spent $3000 at the dealer in quincy il and it still doesnt shift right and they say it cant be fixed unless i buy a new transmission. hi all got a 97 2500 4x4 w/cummins. auto tranny was dealer rebuilt and torque converter replaced six months ago. when i hit overdrive under moderate acceleration i get a slight vibration and the shift lever starts jumping back and forth for a few seconds. if i ease off the accelerator the vibration and shift-lever jumping goes away immediately. i was thinking u-joints. sound right to you looks like i have 3 u-joints and a pillow-block bearing between the transfer case and rear differential. can i just drop the rearmost u-joint and then remove the rear shaft from the pillow-block bearing do i have to remove the pillow-block bearing to remove the front shaft .

earl groce wrote i recently put a high mileage 1995 152k 360 in a 92 dakota. well it spark knocks some just going down the road. if i push it while accelerating 15mph - 65mph it spark knocks pretty good and smokes white smoke.. i assume this engine is box stock. ..... it came out of a 1995 1500 4x4 auto. certainly did not look like a hot rod. what causes these engines to spark knock its using some oil... i assume the oil seals are gone. i has not shown any sign of blow by. its the manifold plenum gasket thats failed. that will result in your spark knock and oil consumption. very very common with the older 360s. .

tbone wrote which of course means nothing. you have yet too define how much can anyone be able to actually make huh im not the one who says we need to have wage limits. that would be you. it has nothing to do with either magic or punishment and the fact that you are unable to even define enough shows your pure greed and complete lack of concern for anything else but yourself. there should not be a ceiling cap on what someones salary can be. your desire to gain access to someone elses wealth is pure greed. you want something that is not yours. the simple thing is that if you want to take the most then you pay the most the wealthy aleady do pay the most but its not enough for you. theyre still rich so you feel the need to take some more. you refuse to set a maximum tax limit. they sky is the limit when it comes to tax rates. workers a living wage and the need for those taxes will drop accordingly. paying people more that their skills demand will not increase buying power for them. thats a concept you just cant seem to understand. .

that sounds like a lot of work. which may not be needed. however hell have to ask without shouting. -- christopher a. young you cant shout down a troll. you have to starve them. .. if its truly oil pressure related. then it has to be a bearing clearance somewhere in the engine pump pickup tube or oil level problem. thats the only things it could be. youve said you have been in both top and bottom and all is clean drain back holes from the lifter valley and heads arent stopped up odd question i know no sludge floating around in the pan the bearings are prime what about the crank have you used plastigauge to measure clearances your digging pretty deep into the engine by opening both top and bottom without mention of an mechanical oil pressure gauge test. .

gearwrenches. darn near the best idea in hand tools thats come along in years and i havent even broke one yet... agreed - though i finally broke one the other day changing out the front shocks on my 03 friggin stud mounts on the upper shocks... would it have killed them to design a shock tower that used a simple eye mount wound up cutting the stud off with a recip. saw. thats not the fault of the tool. i mean i was using two 2-foot pipe extensions on the wrenches in an effort to break the stud nut loose. thats a little more torque than a 9mm wrench should be subjected to nawww it shoulda held up *grin* now if it was a 20ft piece of tube then id say yea you exceeded the torque rating on the wrench *even bigger grin* -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. .

i have a 2003 dodge ram quad cab 1500 series with the 4.7 motor. it has developed a problem where the heat blows warm out of the vents on the right side of the radio. the vents on the left are just blowing cool air. this is also the same problem with the heater...right side warm left side cool. the defroster works okay. it is not blowing hot.just warm. please e-mail me any suggestions since i cannot afford to take it to a dealer. i posted this on a friends computer so please e-mail bcoleman33@comcast.net thanks barbara .
