Q: when i get my ass to fl im going to need a putor for the house. i want to leave this one here in ma for sue to use and the times when i come up. i dont do a bunch of gaming but i might. i do a lot of reading on the net. i like a big monitor for all the pink bunny pics. i thought about a laptop even more when i was trying to figure out the navigation question but have pretty much settled on a garmin. thanks to all for your help and info on that. anyway a laptop will limit the size of the monitor. so lets hear what ya think especially you folks in the field. brand reason why and price they go for if ya have the info. tia roy i would recommend gateway. i have had several for home use over the years and all have been trouble-free. we had dells at work and finally got tired of all the probs and replaced em with gateway and nary a prob since. the clincher for me tho was gateways tech support is still based in the us while dell has shipped their support to india. hell i cant understand em face to face... how can i understand em over the phone my .02 mike .

budd cochran wrote agreed. and that is why there has been so many corruptions of the scriptures why there are so many christian denominations. get back to what is actually in the bible. according to whom you bud why do you feel so strongly that your views are the only right ones and anyone disagreeing with you is misinterpreting they feel the same way about you. its absurd to think youre 100% correct and everyone else that doesnt believe the same is wrong. then you dont want to read the bible as it is written you just want the parts that agree with what you believe. unfortunately there are none. i do not believe that god supports and empowers the devil. if the bible says he does then the bible is wrong written by man centuries ago. why would god support evil and go so far to strengthen it you dont want god in your life for all you want is to be in charge and independent of any higher power. budd you can tell me your views. when you go so far to tell me what my beliefs are in an insinuating negative fashion then youve gone to far. dont preach. it is not asked for. what you call interpretation is in reality your way of rejecting of what the bible says. so everyone who reads the bible and views it differently than you is wrong. youre some sort of rightous person who knows what is 100% right and anyone who disagrees with you is 100% wrong. that budd is pure bs and shows complete arrogance. .

carl byrns carl.byrns@verizon.net wrote not at all- tweaking the pinion depth with the crush sleeve notice the word tweak as in minute adjustment is considered perfectly ok. this is exactly how every lazy mechanic ive ever worked with rationalized it and afaik the only one who considers it okay is you. iggy is smart enough to rtfm and then decide if hes got to change shims or oh come on! you think hes author 4 individual threads if he had the first clue of what hes looking at no offense iggy just snug things up a smidge a smidge is like a tweak -its technical. i hear tell as of a few hours ago that he now owns a dial indicator. maybe hell loan it to you so you wont have to smidge anymore. if not ill gladly loan you the one i bought back in the early 70s when i was finish grinding crankshafts for a living. an impact wrench will not beat the shit out of a bearing if used correctly by someone with years of experience like um me he aint you lucky for that. or who can figure out first thing is to figure out how to keep an impact gun from impacting. someone refresh my memory was it a 3/4 or a 1 impact gun that iggy was gloating about a few days ago. that blip is not the same as hold down trigger until pinion gear is yanked out of the gearcase exaggeration noted. however rank amateurs who cant tell the difference between the front and rear of a pinion gear hint the shims go toward the front not the rear like someone incorrectly posted good grief do you really want to stick by that statement take a look at the diagram iggy posted here; http//igor.chudov.com/projects/automotive/drivetrain-noise-in-dod ge-ram-1500-pickup/ now what the fuck do you suppose item #16 is and where the fuck do you suppose it is installed and as far as front versus rear goes any and every parts book will specify that the bearing closest to the pinion gear teeth is the -rear- pinion bearing and the one closest to the yoke is the -front- pinion bearing. which confirms what he said about the front of the gear facing the pinion shaft so what exactly is your point hes working on a corporate 9.25 axle not a god damned dana 60. the depth adjustment shims go on the pinion stem between the head of the gear and the rear bearing and the crush sleeve -still- has nothing to do with pinion depth. this is completely wrong. since the crush sleeve is located between the two bearings the amount the crush sleeve is actually crushed by the two bearings being forced together does affect the pinion depth. if this were not the case there would be no need to set the bearing pre-load before taking measurements. actually if i know that i might have to make multiple measurements and adjustments i set the preload and make them without the crush sleeve until i get it right. when you think about what bearing preload actually is you will understand. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .

isnt it common fo the lock-up unit on these to be a failure point wouldnt that shudder at very low speeds as it tries to lock up prematurely o.k. dodge gurus figure this one out. dodge ram 1500 4x4 quad 100500 miles and new balanced tires brakes and rotors. when initially taking off from stop and without touching gas truck shutters ever so slightly but enough to see out rear view mirror. as soon as i touch the gas its gone or if i reach 3-4 mph. it doesnt do it any other time. if i hold the brake and let it roll at 1-2 mph it will continue to shutter almost hop. is it the torque converter going bad something else the fluid and filter where changed with proper fluid but no improvement. .
