on fri 26 sep 2008 115157 -0500 geekboy nerdrevenge@nerdythree.net wrote had the same problem in our kids blazer... talk about dumb engineering.. on the 4x4 models with the v-6 there isnt enough clearance for the oil filter around the transfer case so they moved it to the top of the fender inside the hood.. almost everyone ive talked to that had this system had problems with either the adapter plate the hoses the o-rings or all of the above.. youd think that after all these years even chevy would have changed that design.. geekboy nerdrevenge@nerdythree.net wrote about 5 years ago my wife pulled up in our 93 s-10 blazer sounding like a diesel truck. whats the check guages light for she asked. the oil had drained through a leak in the filter lines. dont know how long she drove after it all got out. filled it up & fixed the leak. many k miles later its still running fine; one reason i bought another s-10 a few years back. the v6 well since the 4 cylinder didnt have a remote oil filter... well. i wouldnt have known that..never had one. mac please remove splinters before emailing .
