Q: no offense but the kelly blue book figure they gave you was more than likely the standard lowball wholesale auction value plus the price overallowance monopoly money discount off of the msrp of the new truck. this is a very common sales trick played on uninformed buyers. explanation the new truck for example might have a full sticker price of $25000 but the dealer can actually let it go for $20000 and still make enough to be happy. that $5000 difference is overallowance that the dealer can over-allow you for your old buggy. he doesnt say hes going to knock $5000 off the price of the new ride instead he says hell give you a whopping big offer for your tradein. you come away *thinking* you got a heck of a good deal. in reality you probably didnt. what matters is that youre happy! .

one of the things i need to do is add a set of front tow hooks unfortunately my truck didnt come with them - so now as im beginning to search im seeing prices range from $20.00 - $120.00. one of the things i seem to remember from what i saw on the trucks at the dealership was that dodges tow hooks didnt seem to be a big and beefy as the ford tow hooks and they seemed to not extend out from the truck as far as id like to see. maybe im not remembering correctly.... also theres no cut-outs in the air dam cowling whatever its called... so is there anything to be aware of in regards to installing a set the air dam seems quite flimsy... obviously im staying away from a $20.00 product so if someone can point me to a few reputable web stores id appreciate it. thanks david... a few of the places ive been looking at are; http//www.autotrucktoys.com/ the $12.00 pair http//dodge.autowebaccessories.com $116.00 the price indicates quality but the picture & description is lacking. https//www.dodgeparts.com/catalog/productinfo.php/manufacturersid/19/productsid/270 $25.20 4000 lb capacity or https//www.dodgeparts.com/catalog/index.php/cpath/132 $116.00 same as above id guess.... except 500 lb capacity .

dodgeewe wrote just curious what was the trade in value if i may ask. i have the same truck with alot of extras including 4x4. bought me a durango over the weekend and need to let mine goit has been a really good truck and still going strong you can go to http//www.kbb.com and get a quote for your truck with the specs in a certain condition. mine ended up being $2000-$3000 because of the exterior body damage that i had never noticed before. the rest of the truck looked good but the air-conditioning didnt work anymore and within the past 2 months it seemed to start to hesitate a bit... i was thinking tranny problems again! so i figured id just trade it in. sounds to me like you dont need any help when purchasing a new ride. - .

the ones that ive seen are on the f-250/350 tds... thats what i thought too. and the 250/350s have a max tow rating of 16k so they are advertising that they are grossly overweight in towing a 19200 lb trailer methinks an engineer got loose in the sales department at ford. ;- you can tow 19200 lbs 5th wheel with the f-350 drw 4x2 with the tow boss option diesel engine and automatic transmission. gcwr is 26000 lbs. 26001 and higher require a cdl. coincidence http//www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/superduty/features/specs/#tow .
