Q: on tue 21 oct 2003 223456 gmt tom lawrence tnloaswpraemnmcien5g@earthlink.net wrote slight correction budd.... the hummer is a hum-vee wannabee that very slightly resembles one in looks or action is there really any difference in the drivetrain or suspension between the hmmwv and the hummer i thought they were basically the same with some additional creature comforts like springs in the seats added for the civilian population the h2... well... just watch the video tons of difference tom... my kids a humvee tech army version of jiffy lube at ft lewis and when we actually saw a humvee close up we couldnt believe the hummer was supposed to even look like the humvee.... to us the hummer looks more like a stage coach.... maybe the hummer was cloned from an earlier humvee i dont think hummer has the turbo diesel or the kevlar either .

tons of difference tom... like i dont think hummer has the turbo diesel or the kevlar either no - civilian version is definately not bullet-proof but it is powered by the same gm 6.5l turbo diesel blech. .
