Q: . 222 278576 403d962e$14@corp.groups.com that was probably your injector pump running dry. when you change the fuel filter dont start the engine. just bump the starter and let the key spring back leaving the ignition on. youll hear the lift pump run for about 20 seconds. do this three times then crank up. atf contains nothing that will clean injectors better than #2 diesel at 22000 pounds of pressure. dont bother. rick first off i have very little knowledge of fuel systems so any and all help would be appreciated. i have a 01 ram with the 24 valve cummins and 82k miles on the truck. i just recently changed my fuel filter as part of a regular service. i filled the filter bowl about half way with atf like usualy i hear this helps keep injectors clean and started the truck. died after a second or two like normal and when i tried the restart and listened for the pump filling the bowl i heard a crunchy sound along with a gurgling sound not the normal hum. is the pump on its way out i saw a thread here about lift pumps going bad often. could this also be part of my lack-of-power problem sometimes when stepping on the pedal nothing happens for up to 30 seconds then itll spring to life. but thats a whole nuther story... andy -----= posted via feeds.com uncensored usenet =----- http//www.feeds.com - the #1 group service in the world! -----== over 100000 groups - 19 different servers! =----- .
