hey gang when did they change the body style of the dakota i have a friend that has a 93 i think and is trying to get about a 2 lift in the rear. since the leafs are under the rear axle blocks wont work. i think a set of lift leafs for a 94 should work but he is being told no because the bodies are different. what about the old poormans hotrod trick longer shackles. or put the axle below the leaf springs i was never convinced these methods were sound in their engineering principals though - .

hi all ive got a 99 doge grand caravan es 3.8l. the problem i have is a load continuous squealing sound coming from around the belt area when im not accelerating or at a standstill. ive had a mechanic check the belts etc to see whats causing the annoying squeal. he said the belts/tension and everything looks good and that a piece of crud or something has got stuck somewhere around the belts/pulleys and that it will probably disappear by itself over time. but it seems to be getting louder and even more annoying and i want to know if there would be any harm in me trying to spray some lubricant wd-40 or similar around the pulley shaft areas. thoughts about other possible causes and remedies would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. jitendra .

i work at my local parts store and had a guy come in today working on a 98 1 ton cummins truck. he had broken his slave cylinder and needed a new one only our 2004 wagner books show the last year available to be the 94-97 group for a diesel. i ordered it in to take a look at it. everything from 97 on back all show a slave with a 1 bore. his 98 that he brought in measures at 20mm. other than the bore size they both had the same mounting points and rod length. he went ahead and took it and was going to try and make it work as he said dodge would only sell him as a complete kit - cl. mc/sc combo for $250. only thing he and i could think of is there may not be enough force/pressure to fully release the clutch.....i remember the discussions faintly in here about different bore sizes of the brake mc and their effects on the pedal feel and braking....i assume somewhat that this is true of the clutch setup as well. just wondering if we were correct in thinking the larger bore slave might work... thanks mike .

hello all i decided to go with a dodge this time after many good years with chevies. the main issue i had with my s-10s were head gasket not goodstarters and brakes. my s10 blazer ate up brake pads often. anyway i am picking up a 94 ram and i was wondering what the quirks are with this it has the 318 motor. i put 150000 on my last 318 i owned so i am guessing i will have great luck with this one as well. this truck has 106000 miles on it. do these things still have the ballest resistor on it how about that funky oil pressure sending unit that takes a special socket how do the trannies hold up in these things anything else i need to know about this truck any recalls although it doesnt have a lot of options it has the long bed ac good body and interior. the brakes and tires are new. i am paying $1500.00 for it. is that a reasonable price my dad is selling it to me. this will be my second mopar. i had a 72 dart as well. that was a great car. anyway any thoughts or suggestions about this truck would be appreciated. regards michael fell .
