How do you disable this anti-theft device?????

From : ron m

Q: my 2002 ram 1500 came with an electronic anti-theft device. its an electronic key you carry with you and you have to plug it into a flat socket on the dashboard before your vehicle will start. normally i just leave it in there because its a major hassle. and if i lost my keys id never be able to start it; a replacement ignition key alone would be worthless. plus every now and then my knee knocks it out of the little slot its real loose - it just sits in there and i have a heart attack wondering why my truck wont start. ive tired of this hassle. theres supposed to be some way to disable this thing; can somebody tell me what it is thanks ron m. .

aloha ron id used it the way it supposed to if i were you. my 97 dakota sport came with a life time warranty from my dealer. a week before selling it last month someone broke into it via screwdriver door and busted-up my ignition lock. he/she couldnt pop out the lock to cross the ignition wires or the truck would have been gone. why because i left the key in the socket thinking nobody would steal it. the truck was parked on the driveway inches in front of my garage door. also the security alarm was not armed. i bought a 2004 dodge ram 1500 hemi in march and was in process of rigging it to tow my little 16 foot arima. the dakota was okay for towing before 9/11. since than the coast guard restricted areas fronting honolulu harbor hnl intnl airport pearl harbor and barbers point oil unloading area where i bottom fish for tako octopus. trolling was no problem for towing because the leeward side of oahu www.koolinamarina.com is not very hilly where i launch my boat. i wasnt planning on installing a security alarm on the ram but after that incident i had one put in right away. good thing too because several nights later the alarm tied in to the horn went off @ 1000 pm. the alarm guy said because the truck is parked in the trailer area the truck horn would draw more attention in addition to the standard alarm. btw where do you fish my ram hemi has 17 wheels and im getting bout upper 12 mpg. i have 800 plus miles on it now and the gas mileage in the beginning was 11.6 mpg. gas prices here is one of the highest in the nation 89 varies from $2.25 - $2.35 and one of the other island goes round 3 bucks. burnt 25 gals trolling one-man 11 hours monday not counting the truck gas. going trolling again tomorrow. price you pay for living in paradise. ken tanaka pearl city hi my 2002 ram 1500 came with an electronic anti-theft device. its an electronic key you carry with you and you have to plug it into a flat socket on the dashboard before your vehicle will start. normally i just leave it in there because its a major hassle. and if i lost my keys id never be able to start it; a replacement ignition key alone would be worthless. plus every now and then my knee knocks it out of the little slot its real loose - it just sits in there and i have a heart attack wondering why my truck wont start. ive tired of this hassle. theres supposed to be some way to disable this thing; can somebody tell me what it is thanks ron m. .
