on sun 10 sep 2006 155915 -0700 azwiley1 azwiley1@cox.net wrote here is something that i still dont understand why is the price for diesel higher then for gas as i understood it it takes less refining for diesel then for gas. there is a few reasons that diesel is high still. right now heating oil/ diesel is trading at about 1.92 on futures market and gas for 1.65. diesel has more road tax that gas does so figure on about 75 cents to 1 buck more for diesel than trade price depending on where you are for tax and distriibution. with gas figure on 45 to 65 cent markup for same depending on where you are. also they are stiarting to stock pile heating oil for winter now so do not hold your breath looking for cheap diesel because it is about as cheap as it is going to get now and if it is a cold winter figure on 50 cents to a buck more a gallon for it. the days of diesel being cheaper than gas are gone forever most likely. then there is the cost to remove sulpher which adds 8 to 15 cents a gallon too and all fuel must be low sulpher next year and continue to get even lower in coming years reaching its target of around 5 ppm by 2013 which will add even more cost to fuel in future. btw i filled up with 93 octane yesterday for 2.39/gal and 87 is 2.19. diesel here is 2.87. ----------------- thesnoman.com .

i would look at the tom toms or the i-ways to get a larger screen. as i recall all of them have voice prompting which in my experiences work pretty well. okay larry lets take the larger screen out of it for a minute and go with the voice. which would you suggest roy roy as some one that has sold and used a variety of these systems i can say with confidence that you can not go wrong with the garmin tom tom or the i-way units. biggest thing that i would recommend is that you look at all the features they have and get what you need not buy one because some joe blow says its the best. larry what im looking for is something that is easy to operate upgradable without a lot of bs and will get me from fl to the rabbit house with out droping me at holes house on the way. oh as mac said one with a big screen. or as mac does there is nothing wrong with the laptop idea. sue made one comment. i sorta see another corvette in the future and she says she isnt holding a lap top says they get hot and she wants to read a book too and not hold onto the thing. of course i liked the lap top idea with one eye i want the biggest screen i can get. seriously traveling alone asii will most of the time i guess i want something that i dont have to unpack to read. how much do they go for the garmin or the like roy larry been thinking about one that can be moved from car to truck easily. anybody have any thoughts or opinions based on actual experience tia roy .

roy wrote been thinking about one that can be moved from car to truck easily. anybody have any thoughts or opinions based on actual experience tia roy i had purchased a dell handheld pc axim x51 for use on trips to check websites monitor appointments check email and play music mp3 files. after i got it i decided to add a gps navigation kit from dell cost another $160 and included the navigation software suction cup holder gps receiver 12v charger and all connections. i found that the navigation system works pretty good although since the dell works on microsoft software it occassionally locks up and i have to reboot it. you can set the destination using your address book saved favorites address searches recent destinations and points of interest. you set the types of roads you want to use fastest toll interstate local and what type of display you want. it has adjustable volume but you can also run it through your car speakers i play the music from the dell on my speakers and the directions override the music when its time to turn. the only thing i dont like is that i got the lower cost version of the dell x51 and the screen isnt as bright in daylight as the more expensive x51v but its certainly usable. if you want a device that can provide multiple uses consider one of the handheld pcs with a gps nav system added. looks like dell is having a sale on the x51 right now and with the gps system added the cost is $478. thanks for the info. if i were to go that route id probably go for the lap top. roy john .

has broken or came out. i had the dealer order a new one but i cant figure out how to get the consol down. anyone got any ideas thanks again for all of the knowledge you have shared with me ! inside the garage door opener compartment are two latches. push these latches in to disengage and pull the front of the console down a bit. slide the console rearward and it will come out. .

suddenly without warning napalmheart exclaimed 08-sep-06 1122 pm sigh when it rains it pours. my hubby took the day off and while driving the truck first the radio intermittently cut out display and sound... driving it a bit later the radio cut out again then completely and he noticed the turn signals also would not work. went home turned truck off called dealer drove it over to the dealer later and all was working fine. of course since it was fine upon arrival dealer wouldnt even look at it but said that turning it off and back on may have fixed the error darn rebooting the truck fixes it wow. when i got home i looked for codes but no new ones. any clue what this could be my understanding is the radio and turn signals are on two separate circuits... so why would they both go out at the same time. as it was daylight we dont know if any other lights were affected. the recall concerning rerouting the wiring under the clutch was just done last week... any help appreciated. we thought maybe it was migrating water as a power hose was used on it last week by the dealer to clear off the radiator fluid all over the drivers side of the engine... jmc bad ground ok... wheres the ground and how can i tell its bad i do have a multimeter if i can find it and remember how to use it... jmc i dont know where the specific grounds are. you would have to find them. a multimeter wouldnt be much use with this. more about finding the grounds cleaning and inspecting them for broken wires etc. the power washer and the water could compromise a weak connection. ken .

roy here is a link to both a tom tom and an iway for your easy of reference. again both are danm good units. you will not under any question go wrong with either. http//www.audio-warehouse.com/web/mdl/iway350c/detail.asp http//www.audio-warehouse.com/web/mdl/go300/detail.asp i would look at the tom toms or the i-ways to get a larger screen. as i recall all of them have voice prompting which in my experiences work pretty well. okay larry lets take the larger screen out of it for a minute and go with the voice. which would you suggest roy roy as some one that has sold and used a variety of these systems i can say with confidence that you can not go wrong with the garmin tom tom or the i-way units. biggest thing that i would recommend is that you look at all the features they have and get what you need not buy one because some joe blow says its the best. larry what im looking for is something that is easy to operate upgradable without a lot of bs and will get me from fl to the rabbit house with out droping me at holes house on the way. oh as mac said one with a big screen. or as mac does there is nothing wrong with the laptop idea. sue made one comment. i sorta see another corvette in the future and she says she isnt holding a lap top says they get hot and she wants to read a book too and not hold onto the thing. of course i liked the lap top idea with one eye i want the biggest screen i can get. seriously traveling alone asii will most of the time i guess i want something that i dont have to unpack to read. how much do they go for the garmin or the like roy larry been thinking about one that can be moved from car to truck easily. anybody have any thoughts or opinions based on actual experience tia roy .
