Q: whered you get told $2000 and for what i was guessing based on what you said i needed. looks like $3000 now. oh ok... i was thinking someone quoted you $2k just for the electronics not including trans work. of course that is doing this stuff myself. thatll save a bundle. check out bd performance http//www.bd-power.com... they have a number of electronics for the transmissions to allow them to take some extra power not insane amounts because theres only so much you can do with line pressure on a stock trans. .

a data sticker with your gear ratio on it. also if you change to larger tires your speedometer will be in error unless you change the gear at the rear of the trans i dont know where it is located 97 was the last year of the speedo gear in the trans or transfer case in 4x4 models. speed is now calculated based on the output of the rear-wheel abs sensor. there are electronic boxes you can install to adjust for larger tires or you can have the dealer program in a different size theyll need to know the revolutions per mile number of the tire which can usually be obtained from the tire manufacturer. expect to pay $60-$75 for this which is still cheaper and more reliable than any electronic box you can get. .
