Help -Ram 1500 noise

From : hockeydad

Q: yep your rear diff bearings are on the way out. welcome to the club. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving hello all i would like to pick your brains. i have gotten a lot of good info here in the past and im hoping one of you can help again. i have a 1994 ram 1500 4x4 with a manual tranny. i have a noise that is worrying me. it has gotten progressively louder over the last month and im not sure what it is. it sounds like a winning howling sound that seems to increase in pitch with road speed. its the loudest between 30 - 40 mph but can be heard slower and faster. sort of like tire noise but i dont think its the tires. the tires are only a few months old and i suppose it could be them if they get louder as they wear. i did not hear the noise at all when the tires were new and its pretty loud now about 6000 miles. i also replaced both front hubs and axle joints over the summer about the same time i put the tires on. i dont think is the transmission the noise does not change when i push the clutch in put it in different gears or even coast in neutral. the noise doesnt seem to change with load either. i even put the transfer case in neutral and ran the tranny through the gears with no noise. i replaced the rear u-joints and changed the fluid in the transfercase and front differential with no change. last week the right front axle seal started leaking pretty badly but i have no idea if its related. i replaced the axle seal over the weekend but have only test-driven it sence. the leak appears to be fixed but as expected the noise is still there. any ideas .

did the 02 durango come with a stainless steel exhaust system i couldve sworn i saw that in the brochure and on the window sticker but im not so sure thats what i got. i had my d at my mechanic the other day to check out a noise coming from the front wheel area turns out a little lubrication solved the problem and i mentioned to the mechanic about my exhaust system. he mentioned that if it truly was stainless it shouldnt have been showing signs of rust as it was. anyone have any info on this p.s. i just checked the catalog for the 02 durango. it says it comes with a full stainless steel exhaust system. maybe i dont have a full understanding of stainless but i was under the assumption that it doesnt rust. my stainless steel kitchen knives dont rust so why should this .

tbone wrote putting all of your eggs in one basket is idiotic but i think that you are more motivated by greed than intelligence. why risk money in the market when yopu can just taker it from your employees. who is putting all eggs in one basket what the heck are you trying to say here tbone investing in the market is investing in companies. why is another company not greedy to invest in but investing in my own is greedy you said that you were taking a return on your investment which indicates that you are taking money out by definition not putting it in. do you have a 401k setup or are you just packing your money in the bank with the knowlege that you should be able to continue collecting your full salary until the day you die. you make no sense at all. if i make money by investing in my own company you say im taking from employees and am greedy. if i make money by investing in someone elses company youre all ok with that! how exactly are you investing in your company are you using your personal income or company profits i take it that your company is private which is quite different than investing in a public company where all investors can make money if the stock is in demand and the company is doing well. fyi yes i have many investments including 401k. and yet you still intend to collect from your company until you die instead of giving others the oppertunity to be successful. like i said greed! do you think that these tax charities have no cost of operations they are in most cases higher than the government costs because the government already has its infrastructure in place. youd be wrong! the government has never been very efficient at anything it does. care to back this up. try looking up medicaid and medicare and compare it to the hmos. even the hurricane disaster relief that the gov is sponcering. 100% of the money going to the victims and then remember the red cross and the 9/11 disaster and how much money never got to those that needed it. of course not but if they are close to a tax bracket the small donation could yield them a much higher gain in lower tax payments rofl...please give an example here tbone. if i make $1 over a bracket boundry you think a bunch of my income is suddenly taxed at the higher rate it doesnt work that way but thanks for the laugh. really miles care to explain exactly how it does work..... i didnt think so. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .
