since the op notes that its starting to slip on the 1-2 shift as well i meant to say rear clutch pack. the front clutch pack would have nothing to do with the 1-2 shift slipping. further if the front pack were slipping hed have said something about reverse slipping not clunking. -- max join www.devilbrad.com and find out what free exchange of info is all about. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author try adjusting the front band. if that doesnt do it and im guessing it wont your rear clutch pack is worn. . of course you meant to say front clutch pack. join www.devilbrad.com and find out what free exchange of info is all about. there are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty soap ballot jury and ammo. please use in that order. -ed howdershelt author ive been having some issues with the automatic transmission on my 96 dodge van recently. it has a v8 motor with a 3 speed automatic transmission and ac. the transmission seems to slip when going into the top gear the slip seems to start around 28-30 mph and it doesnt fully engage until around 38-40 mph lifting my foot from the gas seems to help the shift. it has also started to slip a little when going from 1st to second gear and will occasionally clunk into reverse when i shift. ive checked the tranny fluid and it seems to be at or near the correct level. can anyone suggest what the problem might be best regards. bed .

dropping the cummins will be their biggest fuck up to date. it would be their only fuck up since going with the cummins in 88. no there have been others. giving up the bragging rights of being top dog in terms of torque to the duramax is one. the chrysler/daimler merger is one. the rampant lift pump failure issue is one. i keep hearing something about the #5 cylinder. dropping the jeep cherokee for the liberty is one. killing the tj is one. going with a v6 is one carries far more significance in jeep circles than truck groups. there are plenty of fuck-ups im only saying this will be their daimler/chryslers not just dodge biggest to date. since then the truck line has consistantly grown in sales until the recent fuel pricing. cummins saved dodge from bankruptcy and has kept them alive since. rubbish. chrysler was saved from bankruptcy by the k-car. restyling the pickup was what made the trucks sell more since 5 years of cummins availability 88-93 did jack shit for sales volume. the kcar was a big hit certianly but it died as fast as it rose. the restyle was great but surely you dont think it would have been as successful with a foreign diesel ford has been trying to get their hands on the cummins for some time. for years ive felt that ford builds the best truck on the market and putting the best engine in the market will be the boost ford needs to get back on top. their diesels have consistantly made more power for the weight of the engine. these two key numbers are what makes a vehicle get better fuel economy and performance. sure but that has less to do with sales than marketing. just the fact that it says cummins on it sells engines. todays duramax is consistantly getting better mileage than todays cummins and its producing more power with less weight yet its popularity is dying. sure they are arrogant but... the german designed diesel is a very good product. most anything german is a good product but again we have marketing to joe six-pack. the cummins is very popular but the replacement if there is one will be at least as good regardless of popularity. being as good and selling as good are two different matters entirely. sadly deiter zeitsche is far from being an elitist german doesnt matter much as he is perceived as such. joe six-pack doesnt like arrogant foreigners and this is critical if youre trying to get joe six-pack to give you his money. dr. z is the only reason chrysler and dc as a corporation are still operating successfully today. i dont agree. the top sellers were in place since long before the merger. you want an elitist german his name was jergen schremp. you want elitist americans look at the execs that sold chrysler to the krauts in the first place. agreed but......were back to joe six-pack. joe six-pack hears his german accent in the commercials and takes note of his arrogance. if you want to sell cars you take the same commercial that z was in and replace him with carrol shelby or someone similar and then youll sell cars to joe six-pack. at this point chrysler is the only american manufacturer that is running anywhere near the black ink and isnt scurrying for solutions to insolvancy. they must understand something about the american consumer. at this point theyre selling the cummins engine. its going to be interesting to see what happens with the release of their new models. -- nathan in montana http//concealedcarryforum.com http//1911tech.com http//glockcarry.com .

i used type-a back in mopar power steering units when it was available switched to dexron and have even in a pinch used 10w-30. when i worked on heavy equipment many years ago i put a gallon of dexron or type-a in every 5 gallons of hydraulic oil and the seals and packings on the lift/tilt/steering cylinders of those forklifts lasted longer not to mention it made the job of deciding what kind of fluid was on the floor much easier. -- budd cochran john 316-17 ephesians 28-9 romans 323 623 our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. it is wholly inadequate for the government of any other. john adams i added about a 1/4 cup of mercon v atf to my ps reservoir. immediately realizing my mistake i siphoned out all of the ps fluid and atf in the reservoir and refilled it with ps fluid i then siphoned out all of the fluid again and refilled it a second time with ps fluid i then siphoned it one last time and refilled it again. is there anything else i should do or am i good to go thanks! joe -- posted via a free usenet account from http//www.tera.com .

top 10 reasons why beer is better than religion 10. no one will kill you for not drinking beer. 9. beer doesnt tell you how to have sex. 8. beer has never caused a major war. 7. they dont force beer on minors who cant think for themselves. 6. when you have a beer you dont knock on peoples doors trying to give it away. 5. nobodys ever been burned at the stake hanged or tortured over his brand of beer. 4. you dont have to wait 2000+ years for a second beer. 3. there are laws saying beer labels cant lie to you. 2. you can prove you have a beer. 1. if youve devoted your life to beer there are groups to help you stop. -- ken .

tiggy@gisco.net wrote took the truck into the dealer today. the hooked it up to the computer with chrysler. apparently it was strange my truck still ran even though there was no communication with the bus. they figured it to be a voltage spike to make this happen. truck still runs good and all gauges work now. its one of those never seen this before at the dealer. they disconnected each module and found no problem. cured itself apparently. well see what happens now. haha! the no-bus error was never seen by your dealer before is he *really* new to the business my 99 has popped up with this error about 5 times in the last year. a light tap to the panel below the steering wheel brings it back to life at this point. this is what happens when you build a flimsy truck with oodles of undersized wiring in the harness and the sleaziest quality connectors you could possibly find on the market. so the wiring is undersized and the connectors are sleazy you know this how mike is this how jmc got the crickets i hear em now... .
