Grand Caravan A/C intermittent problems

Q: hi im based in the uk and have been the proud owner of this dodge from new imported from canada. its the 1500 laramie 5.7 hemi v8 auto 4x4. this week i have noticed a problem when slowing down to a junction....if you dont actually stop and hence touch the throttle to move off again at low speed instead of starting off in 2nd gear it jolts down to 1st as though youd stamped on the throttle. as there are virtually no dodge experts here in the uk does anybody have an idea what might have stopped working ttruck has done about 40000 miles never towed and rarely hammered / tire smoked! ive checked fluid when hot and the level is about mid way between hot and cold settings and looks nice and clean. please help i have horrific nightmares returning from my days of owning an 87 blazer with 700r4 box! .

tom lawrence wrote i am very appreciative of all your time and responses but the logic about the maintenance does not make sense. you bought the truck or someone did - maybe you bought it used in 2000. the first leak occurred in 2005. was there any cooling system maintenance performed between 2000 and 2005 hello tom i bought it in oct 2002 on the dealers lot. it had less than 15k miles on it. yes the 1st leak occurred in mar 2005 at 42k. from oct 2002 to mar 2005 i did not perform coolant maintenance on it because it was only 3 1/2 years and at 42k miles. i do not know for sure about the coolant from 2000 to 2002 when the dealer had the truck on the lot. maybe i should have asked. but if the dealer never changed it either then the coolant would have been in the truck for over 5 years!!! oh my! but still why did it happen again a second time right now at 64000 mi on aug 29 2006 i hope this make sense. js .
