raminator96 wrote any one have any experience using yokohama tires specifically the geolander at+ iis im looking to get a new set for my 96 ram cc 5.9l 4x2. i do mostly on road driving but like the option of a/t tires when it snows or if i have to go off the road. i am currently running on a set of cooper vipers that served me very well over the last 50k miles and it turns out they are no longer made. i like the wranglers by goodyear but they typically wear out fast in my own experience i had eagles on a car and they wore down quickly and the wranger rt/s on the ram wore down in about 40k. the cooper vipers were great better ratings then the goodyears and looked better too. what kind of tires have you been riding on. any suggestions/recommendations again i have a 2 wheel drive 96 ram 1500 cc w/ the 5.9 and drive mostly street in nj thanks i have been running yokohama geolander h/t-s tires for about 9000 miles now and i cannot say enough good things about them. they are quiet on road and still have a good aggressive design well good enough for my 4x2. they have held up well and do not show any signs of wear around the edges like previous wranglers have. wet weather and snow traction both seem very good as does dry pavement. best thing i caught them on sale for about $80 each at tirerack.com. that is a great deal for light truck tires! they are now running about $105 a tire over there the ones you mentioned are about the same. i will probably stick with yokohama tires the next time my truck is due i have been that happy with them. rob .

i put the egt gauge in this weekend and took a trip to see mom about 50 miles away. readings were in the 600 degree range and jumped up to the 900-1000 range when i jumped on it to get on the freeway or jumping from 60-80 mph. after i settled in on a speed the temps dropped back to around 600 if i was around 70mph or 650-700 at 80mph. after getting high temps 1100 was the highest for a few seconds and then letting off the fuel to keep a steady speed the temps dropped to 600 within seconds. sitting with a warmed up engine at the traffic light the temp is around 300. since this is my first egt experience is this normal its an 03 ho with a 6sp. -- fmb only one b in fmb .

btw i havent had to replace the battery in my 2004 ram ctd yet. 17k and counting ... yep - its a hit or miss thing. one of my stock batteries in my 03 exploded with about 16k on the clock... what a mess. the truck now has dual optima red-tops so i dont expect a repeat performance. .

the driveline vibration at 65mph that has been a more than irritating is no more. over the past few days the service department had both driveshafts balanced. that removed some of it. next they did the fix that has worked for a couple of folks on the tdr. they loosened the motor mount bolts and the transmission mount moved the truck about 100 feet in each direction shut it off in neutral so there was no bind and then torqued everything down. nice and smooth now. roy good!! now get ready to put the blade back on. the wc is calling for 2-4 inches here tomorrow night. no shit!!! denny i saw that some people out there were in line for 5-10. sorta late dont ya think bg roy .
