Fuel tank capacity `93 Dakota

Q: i do not have an owners manual but from what i have gathered on the web my tank is only 14 gallons. or so i thought. filled up for the first time from a nearly empty tank today @1/8 that is when the little gas pump lights on the dash. i got 16.7 gallons into it and there has to be at least a couple gallons @ 1/8. forgot to write down mileage so i would see the difference with the new exhaust. a fill-up last week netted me 14 mpg hoping for 16 with the new cat and muff. does this sound like a reasonable expectation for 5.2 4x4 -- from the desk of jesse a. harrington .
