2000 dodge grand caravan se 3.3l flex fuel engine. friends van and im a stick guy so i dont know if p-r-n-d-3-l makes it a 3-spd or a 4-spd autobox. dont know if the reverse gear is counted in auto trannies. she lost the owners manual and fuckin mopar wont let you download one for free unlike ford. so ive been looking online to find out what tranny fluid to use. seems you can use atf+4 in this model year. what im not sure is do you have to cause if not id rather buy atf+3 for her fluid change rather than pay a premium for dcs stupid monopoly on atf+4. the local dealer sez use atf+4 but i never trust dealers and particularly not when they recommend something only they can sell me. i cant find a clear explanation anywhere of when chrysler went to requiring atf+4 and when atf+3 was still ok to use. tx. .

heres my problem it has 250000 on the truck and the tranny is acting up again first rebuild ran close to $2000 can and did not last more than a year and a half. second time ram me about $1400 and lasted 2 years. now it is on its way out again any hints there is an outfit in british columbia named bd who build transmissions and convertors for diesels. not only dodge. a local specialty shop that only works on diesel pickups and motorhomes highly recommends them. his site is http//thepowershop.com/ of course the only rub is that the trans is around $2700 usd and the convertor is around another $600 one of the regulars here had a 2000 dodge cummins that he put a trans and convertor in for snowplowing. i think it was a bd anyway he said it worked great. im sure hell post more pretty much comes down to the old problem of how much you want to spend on this truck or do you want to spend it on something else politics the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich. .
