Q: hello. i have recently purchased a 97 dodge 4x4 cummins diesel truck. a friend strongly recommends i install a reyco water separator or some other brand in addition to the oem fuel/water filter. he doesnt seem to think much of the oem fuel/water filter. his background is repairing diesel logging equipment in northern ontario. do i really need to do this the owners manual recommends against this. thanks in advance for any advise. irp i suppose to answer that question you need to think about where you purchase your fuel does he sell a lot of it high turnover is it from a quality refinery how much fuel do you go through and im sure several other factors that others will bring up. i dont have a seperate one in my 03 ho. fmb only one b in fmb .
