FIXED but one question: Re: Slight steering wheel shake during downhill braking
From : todd w roat
Q: the delaer did turn the rotors and problem resolved. they seem to encounter this often exoplanation was that the heavy surface asbestos content of new brake pads causes the rotor to wardp slightly. once the hevy asbestos pad surface mellos out the pads are better but the rotor is now a little warped. several peopel said to expect new rotors and maybe pads. all the dealer did was turn the rotors. should i have received new rotors preferably or is turning them sufficient. at 5000 miles on truck it feels like they should have replaced them. todd todd no i couldnt find one. i checked dodgeram.org. carm thanks carmen. any tsb associated with this todd take it to the dealer and tell them about it. my 03 ram qc hemi was doing the same thing around 7k miles. they replaced the rotors and pads on front and its been fine ever since then. they wrote on the invoice that they replaced the rotors with the latested recommended replacement rotors. which makes me think that this is an ongoing problem and dodge has issued a number of different rotors to fix the problem. carm minor issue. at 5k miles on my 2003 ram hemi 4x4 quad cab i have notcied a slight shaking in the steering wheel while braking particluar downhill. is this an alignment wheel balance known issue or tsb or combination of all thanks in advance! todd .
