this sure sounds like a great place to start any idease where to find this on my beast any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!! if you are sitting in the front passenger seat look where your feet are. directly above your feet you will find a small wire harness. with a flashlight follow it upward and you will find the culprit. very carefully remove the harness plug. you will need and 8mm 1/4 drive socket to remove 2 screws. one is easy to see and easy to remove. the other is by feel and a pain but managable. i used part number 4885635 - module the cost is $6.94. it fixed mine and has been working good. good luck james .

perhaps you need to monitor your fuel pressure while it is malfuntioning. maybe just a fuel filter will correct it. james .

this sounds like a lack of enough high voltage to the spark plugs. this can be caused by a cracked spark plug or spark plug wire problem. the coil may also may be weak. it might also be a fuel pump flow problem. check the spark plug wires end to end with an ohm meter including the coil wire. they should read less than 10k ohms per foot. if you have the spark plugs wires tightly bundled separate them apart. check the fuel pressure under load. if you have efi with manifold injectors the fuel pressure will vary with manifold vacuum and under full load will be about 10 psi more than at idle. verify that there are no cracks in the hose to the map sensor if you have a efi fuel system. make sure that there are no vacuum line leaks that will make one cylinder lean. unless you have a spark plug tester that tests the plugs under pressure just replace the plugs. verify that the timing belt is not one cog off time. on tue 23 dec 2003 232512 -0500 james edmonds bigdodge@bellsouth.net wrote 1984 dodge d-50 has a 2.0 i-4 engine mated to a 4 speed maual trans that misses under a load. the truck has 233300 miles on it. it has a new timing belt distributor cap and button and a new fuel filter. it runs great until you put it under a load like interstate driving or going up long hills. the harder you press the gas pedal the worse it misses. i have checked for vacum leaks and cant find any. thaks for any help. .

at that mileage it may be blowby worn out pull off the oil breather & see if you are getting bypass gases or do a compression check. also are you getting bubbles in radiator it could be a head gasket. 1984 dodge d-50 has a 2.0 i-4 engine mated to a 4 speed maual trans that misses under a load. the truck has 233300 miles on it. it has a new timing belt distributor cap and button and a new fuel filter. it runs great until you put it under a load like interstate driving or going up long hills. the harder you press the gas pedal the worse it misses. i have checked for vacum leaks and cant find any. thaks for any help. --- outgoing mail is certified virus free. checked by avg anti-virus system http//www.grisoft.com. version 6.0.553 / virus database 345 - release date 12/18/2003 .

try looking at the maf sensor. these have been known to cause the problem you are describing. starts and runs fine until acceleration is needed. then it bogs. jordan. -- thats 10 times ive explained binary to you. i wont tell you a 3rd time! 1984 dodge d-50 has a 2.0 i-4 engine mated to a 4 speed maual trans that misses under a load. the truck has 233300 miles on it. it has a new timing belt distributor cap and button and a new fuel filter. it runs great until you put it under a load like interstate driving or going up long hills. the harder you press the gas pedal the worse it misses. i have checked for vacum leaks and cant find any. thaks for any help. .
