rev writes you know that one of the two sensors is bad. you can spend hours tracking down the error code to determine which one of the two is bad. or you can replace one. if it doesnt fix it put the old one back in and replace the other one. or since youre probably 100k miles past the reasonable service life of a thin platinum wire that lives in the exhaust stream you can just replace both and move on to something more interesting. -rev parts changer whos time is worth more than a $25 sensor ninebal310 responds with first let me apologize if i offended you. second since i am not sure either sensor is bad since the diagnostic readout says it is the post-cat sensor and i dont have a post-cat sensor i dont want to replace or waste my time replacing one or both. third the motor only has 38k miles. i bought it new so i know that is true. fourth the sensor that the diagnostics says is bad costs $139.00 not $25.00. fifth this is a learning experience for me. sixth thanks for your response. hank has more time than money and loves to learn .

of an effect on the ability to plow with the vehicle such as manuvering and blind spots most plowing is done looking ahead. blind spots go with the game. snow can cause blind spots from one minute to the next. wheel base has to do with manuvering not cab size. fair enough. i dont think i would use such an expensive vehicle to push snow around when far less expensive models could do it just as well if not better but as i said before thats just my personal choice. im with tbone and budd -- i love the old trucks -- who wants to get a brand new truck scratched up plowing when you can get a cheap old reliable d150 and if you really want something you can mount a plow on and use to carry the crew and tools try an old cargo van -- not the same maneuverability but an all round relaiable work truck. and while i am at it imho i dont like the new dakotas -- too big for $1000 cdn i have a set up with little work -- needed trans. for 400 in the old short box so bought 74 powerwagon complete and running rough with no body left but plow harness 360+trans so am dropping out the 400 and doing a bit of body repair new brakes and decent tires see truck http//www3.sympatico.ca/rske/ and click on projects rach .

i actually love my 01 2500 qc for plowing...and no scratches at all if youre careful. the guys i contract for up north have fords and when it comes to the heavy stuff...they actually move out of my way since they cant compete when it comes to the heavy stuff. as for a van....id expect huge blind spots and thatd be more of a problem than anything else. -- ------------------------------------------ laszlo almasi cool toys formerly carolina watercraft works ice angels of an effect on the ability to plow with the vehicle such as manuvering and blind spots most plowing is done looking ahead. blind spots go with the game. snow can cause blind spots from one minute to the next. wheel base has to do with manuvering not cab size. fair enough. i dont think i would use such an expensive vehicle to push snow around when far less expensive models could do it just as well if not better but as i said before thats just my personal choice. im with tbone and budd -- i love the old trucks -- who wants to get a brand new truck scratched up plowing when you can get a cheap old reliable d150 and if you really want something you can mount a plow on and use to carry the crew and tools try an old cargo van -- not the same maneuverability but an all round relaiable work truck. and while i am at it imho i dont like the new dakotas -- too big for $1000 cdn i have a set up with little work -- needed trans. for 400 in the old short box so bought 74 powerwagon complete and running rough with no body left but plow harness 360+trans so am dropping out the 400 and doing a bit of body repair new brakes and decent tires see truck http//www3.sympatico.ca/rske/ and click on projects rach .

hi guys! lol on the ot! this is not too ot but then roy actually was really asking about his garage floor i think ;- nope! the person asking how to repair the garage floor in a manner that would stand up to the weight of his fat ass was the wide ride rabbit/denny. trust me i will come up with my own mindless ot stuff.g anyway i posted this week on our local ott.forsale.vehicles for a 85-88 p-u chrysler manual and had in mind about $50 cdn whats that 25 cents us -- and no something came up and i cant pick up the o2 sensor until more money comes in so i still have an old truck that wants to go to pasture this guy has the 1987 chrysler original service manuals....3 books weighing over 7 lbs. and says i recently ordered the service manuals for my chevrolet venture van and they cost me over $250. new and how much can i pay for all 3 poor guy -- did his wife make him buy it i would like to get them if i can. i am wondering if $100 cdn is fair or not i really hadnt though about getting them all but since i have two 86s in decent shape and may get a parts one for the current parts one and have a mostly 82 4x4 for which i have one 81 chrysler manual and a 74 4x4 parts truck and am likely to stay with these trucks until they become one i really should buy them all. i do ramble dont i... according to yesterdays conversions this is $87 usd any help is much appreciated been thinking about your situation. somebody here offered to scan and send the pages you needed iirc. why not take him up on his offer others here have the fsm and other manuals that im sure they would send you the relevant pages that contain the info you need. still othere have the knoweledge to talk you through what ya have to do. tom lawrence denny max budd and others have info and more importantly experience in a ton of repairs and r&rs. it would be quicker than selling one thing to buy another at least it would do until situations improve. just my thought. roy .

are you sure that there is no sensor behind the converter. it could be on top of the pipe and sometimes it is actually on the very tail of the converter itself again on the top. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving i had the local auto zone run a check on it. they said it was a code p0161 which means o2 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 2 sensor 2. they said it was the o2 sensor that is behind the catalyctic converter. well there is no sensor behind or aft of the converter. so which one is it i have 2 sensors on the exhaust system. one on each side bank before it joins into one pipe before the converter. are they both the same sensor any help would be greatly appreciated. hank totally confused by todays electronics .
