Q: miles wrote tbone wrote lol ok max exactly what is the 4 wheel drive for according to you 4x4 doesnt do much. all we need to do is yank the rear driveshaft and run off the fronts since the rear does minimal for moving or braking. yep front wheel drive is all you need. if you dont already know how to drive in the snow all four wheel drive will do is get you killed. jam .

the 6 cyl is only available in the 2 wheel drive models. you probably wont find one on the lot unless you are in a sunbelt state. i have an 04 with the 4.7. it accelerates fine when getting the highway with 4 people in it. the milage on the highway runs about 22 mpg and we tend to drive 75-80 mph. it is definitely a pig around town with my wifes lead foot. i figure we are getting about 16 mpg around town. nlhomer wrote hello! maybe someone in this group can answer this question..the wife and i were looking at a durango the other day and she told me that durangos only came with v-8s.this was told to her by another person who had bought one.any truth to that statementany reply is welcome b.h. .

callmeal wrote sometime ago my dome light quit working. now if i accidentally turn the light switch to the position where the dome light should come on and i leave it sit over night it discharges the battery where the van will not start. the dome light will not come on when i open either front or passenger door but the back dome lights do come on when i open either the side door or back door however if i leave the doors open more than a hour or two the battery will run down to where the van wont start. i removed the front dome light and used a tester and found power to both the black and white wires is this right im trying to figure out if the problem is the light switch the dome light or the door switches. any help would be appreciated thanks. al you have an short and the only thing to do is track it down. with a test light on the circuit. .

the new 2004/2005 durangos can be bought with the 3.7l 6cyl. it is only on the low end models. why you would want one though is of question. the durango is a large vehicle and the 3.7l 6cyl is way under powered for it. you would not be happy. if gas mileage is your concern you wont gain much with the smaller engine. in fact the hemi 5.7l v8 tends to get about the same or a bit better than the 4.7l v8. because of very limited demand for a 6cyl durango most dealers have very few if any on the lot but one could be ordered if not on the lot. if you are referring to the older durangos i believe they all had v8s 4.7l 5.2l or 5.9l. nlhomer wrote hello! maybe someone in this group can answer this question..the wife and i were looking at a durango the other day and she told me that durangos only came with v-8s.this was told to her by another person who had bought one.any truth to that statementany reply is welcome b.h. .

you need to be a little more clear. are you talking about the transmission rear seal the transmission front seal or the engines rear main seal is it leaking oil or trans fluid and is the fluid leaking from the back of the transmission or from between the engine and transmission -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving hello i have a question for some of u all i have a 1990 dodge d150 75000 miles on it driving home tonight got out and smelled some rubber like smell burning we live in the country thought some one had a fire soldering but back to the point so i had my wife crank the truck and shift into nutrual where the drive shaft or tranny goes to motor the seal is busted friend of mine said the seal/gasket is about 9 bucks but u have to take tranny out to get to this my question is has this ever happen to any body or someone tell me about how much this will run please chris .

on thu 02 dec 2004 221759 gmt budd cochran mr-d150@citlinkspam.net wrote snip ive lived in the intermountain west for the last 35 years. twenty-five of those were spent in and around the salt lake valley. i worked at one of the ski resorts for many years. home was at about 4200 work was close to 9000. many times i had to go up the canyon very early in the morning before the plows had a chance to clear even one lane. often i would be going down the canyon late at night well after the plows had quit for the day. park city im in moab and spent a year in bountiful back in 81. brighton in big cottonwood canyon. first in the ski school then managing a restaurant in the main lodge then down to the blind miner restaurant. in the early 80s i spent a couple of years in the sun valley area. up there you are either wealthy or you work for the wealthy. i was not wealthy so i beat a path back to slc. ive been in boise for about 10 years love it. ok i been through the area. beautiful country but it can be dangerous if not prepared. i can unequivocally state in my situation a bit of extra weight in the bed of my truck made those ascents and descents much easier and safer. no doubt but convince tom of that. there is quite a bit more involved here than just getting stuck or not getting stuck. handling and safety were my main concerns. getting stuck is simply inconvenient sliding off a steep narrow mountain road plummeting to the boulder filled creek bed 50 below could ruin more than just your day... dj or how about as ive seen in some areas a 200-300 foot drop i lost a good friend in that canyon 50 was enough. my condolences. budd .
