honestly that is a lot of work. being that i used to do the car audio installation stuff for a living for many years i learned to do it fast and clean. to clarify on my 1st post. place the antenna on the roof just above the weather seal centered on the rear view mirror wire running down the windshield. with your finger or a small flat head pull back the seal tuck the wire down and run it across the to and down the drivers side. at this point you will be able to run the wire around into the cab through the door tucking it under the door seal. when you run the wire under the door seal leave a hair of slack in it and make sure you fold the wire over the metal channel before you put the seal back in place. dont wire this will not damage the wire or cause a problem down the road. from there how you run it is up to you. i had a dakota and ran out two wires for satellite radio and navigation ran them behind the dash up along the column along the windshield into thehead liner and then pulled out the rear mount brake light and ran them out there.. its a nice neat run and all i did was place a dab of silicone where the wire met the body to prevent drips from going behind the light... just made the jump to satellite radio does any know the best way to mount antenna on a dakota or should i leave to the pros tyrone .

the 1500 is a bit underdesigned when it comes to the drive train as they use the same components as the dakota. you cant even get the standard shift with the 260 as the nv3500 is not up to the added torque. i guess that they think of it as just a big car. you realize that the 1500 is a half ton rated probably at best around 7000 lbs gross trailer rating. while the engine hemi for example in a lot of half tons are the same engine found in the gas versions of the 3/4 and 1 tons applications the suspension drivetrain and brakes are designed as such 1/2 ton. so i would disagree that the half tons are under designed but would say instead they are over abused. im guilty too thats why i quit buying half ton trucks. if that were the case dude then why wasnt the 5 speed offered with the 360 the simple fact is that the 5 speed offered and transfer case for that matter is the same one used in the dakota and that transmission is not capable of dealing with the torque of the 360 in that application which to me is simple sub-standard. and then when you add up all of the failures with the 9 1/4 in rear again mostly in the 1500 series..... -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving here again tbone your talking about an engine capable of handling the job of a 1 ton its was offered in the br/be 1 tons not exactly sure if it was ever offered in the dr but i think it was in a half ton truck then your complaining that a half ton trans and transfer case isnt strong enough for it....well!!! sure they arent. you have to use the stuff rated for that power certainly. but does that mean the nv3500 sub standard id think not. you see you have to have reasonable expectations of the equipment. for example i wouldnt ask a nissan p/u to pull 40 tons of freight cross country. but that being said. ill spot you this they could have used a stronger trans and offered a standard shift with the 360 in a half ton. and ok so the bearings in the 9 1/4 corp. axle wasnt the best. im sure if you could get some corporate executive at chrysler to admit the truth it was a extremely bad decision to use that particular vendor. other than that i really didnt see any other problems with the axle. -- ---------------------------- -chris 05 ctd 06 liberty crd real trucks dont need spark plugs. .

what kind of difference can the use biodiesel make when it comes to changing the world for the better perhaps the biggest impact of the use of biodiesel fuel instead of just plain diesel is on the human health and the environment. one of the biggest differences that biodiesel make is with regards to smog. using biodiesel actually reduces smog. both unburned hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides in diesel fuel account for most of the particulates in air pollution. when you use biodiesel product or homemade biodiesel there is a substantial reduction of unburned hydrocarbons and if you are using a blend that is right for your machine. tests that have been conducted according to epa regulations have shown that the hydrocarbon exhaust emissions that biodiesel are half that of that measured for diesel fuel. can biodiesel make more energy unlike the burning of fossil fuels the burning biodiesel fuels actually gives back more energy to the environment that it takes. lifecycle studies of biodiesel production show that for every unit of fossil energy it takes to manufacture ... http//biodieselaa.blogspot.com/# .

thought this was pretty good. im sure you can think of some folks that would like it. roy a different christmas poem the embers glowed softly and in their dim light i gazed round the room and i cherished the sight. my wife was asleep her head on my chest my daughter beside me angelic in rest. outside the snow fell a blanket of white transforming the yard to a winter delight. the sparkling lights in the tree i believe completed the magic that was christmas eve. my eyelids were heavy my breathing was deep secure and surrounded by love i would sleep. in perfect contentment or so it would seem so i slumbered perhaps i started to dream. the sound wasnt loud and it wasnt too near but i opened my eyes when it tickled my ear. perhaps just a cough i didnt quite know then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow. my soul gave a tremble i struggled to hear and i crept to the door just to see who was near. standing out in the cold and the dark of the night a lone figure stood his face weary and tight. a soldier i puzzled some twenty years old perhaps a marine huddled here in the cold. alone in the dark he looked up and smiled standing watch over me and my wife and my child. what are you doing i asked without fear come in this moment its freezing out here! put down your pack brush the snow from your sleeve you should be at home on a cold christmas eve! for barely a moment i saw his eyes shift away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts. to the window that danced with a warm fires light then he sighed and he said its really all right im out here by choice. im here every night. its my duty to stand at the front of the line that separates you from the darkest of times. no one had to ask or beg or implore me im proud to stand here like my fathers before me. my gramps died at pearl on a day in december then he sighed thats a christmas gram always remembers. my dad stood his watch in the jungles of nam and now it is my turn and so here i am. ive not seen my own son in more than a while but my wife sends me pictures hes sure got her smile. then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag the red white and blue...an american flag. i can live through the cold and the being alone away from my family my house and my home. i can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet i can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat. i can carry the weight of killing another or lay down my life with my sister and brother.. who stand at the front against any and all to ensure for all time that this flag will not fall. so go back inside he said harbor no fright your family is waiting and ill be all right. but isnt there something i can do at the least give you money i asked or prepare you a feast it seems all too little for all that youve done for being away from your wife and your son. then his eye welled a tear that held no regret just tell us you love us and never forget. to fight for our rights back at home while were gone to stand your own watch no matter how long. for when we come home either standing or dead to know you remember we fought and we bled. is payment enough and with that we will trust that we mattered to you as you mattered to us. * * * * * please would you do me the kind favor of sending this to as many people as you can christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our u.s. service men and women for our being able to celebrate these festivities. lets try in this small way to pay a tiny bit of what we owe. make people stop and think of our heroes living and dead who sacrificed themselves for us. lcdr jeff giles sc usn 30th naval construction regiment no virus found in this incoming message. checked by avg free edition. version 7.1.409 / virus database 268.14.3/531 - release .

tbone wrote once again you are unable to answer even a simple question. i did many times. people should be able to make what their abilities allow them. youve been two-faced on the matter. on one hand you blast them like crazy say they need to be taxed higher prevented from making more than some magical amount called enough etc. on the other hand you have stated you do not want limits imposed on how much someone can make even though your wishes would have exactly that effect. oh really. and what exactly is the issue it intended to solve according to you the issue is to prevent people from making more than enough. you cant say tax everything higher that costs more than x $s. why not because of the following. it has to be a higher tax on higher priced items in a given market. a $200000 car should be taxed higher than a $200000 house. i agree with you but also feel that it would be far to complicated to implement and be far to subject to corruption. a higher tax simply based on price alone would hurt people of all income brackets for the reason above. .

them off and go back on and they may work 1 - 7 or 8 times and quit. is the blinkers switch in the column going bad if so how hard is it to replace yes its the multi-function switch thats shot. replacement is pretty simple. essentially you remove the trim pieces from the steering column torx screwdrivers needed then remove the multi-function switch with a security or tamper-proof torx screwdriver same as a regular torx only with a hole in the middle because the screw head has a pin in the middle. the wiring harness is screwed to the switch so youll remove that screw as well. getting the steering column trim pieces to all line up upon re-assembly will probably be the trickiest part of the job. just dont tighten any screws until the pieces all fit together. before doing this disconnect the battery and wait several minutes for the capacitors in the airbag system to discharge. accidentally setting off an airbag in your face could ruin your whole day. thanks tim for the info. ill give it a shot next week and let you know if i was successful. ill be putting the dodge in the shop today for a radiator leak. .

tbone wrote oh please miles enough with the bs right wing fear tactics. those companies would still exist even without those over paid assholes and so would the jobs and probably at a higher pay with the massive savings in their salaries. please tbone stop with the liberal absurd logic devoid of any logic based reality. companies grow because people invest with the expectation of large returns. erase those returns for those at the top and the investments cease to exist or they take them elsewhere. profits are the very reason people invest in the growth of a company. i know you dont like that call it greed or whatever but take it away and it stops. yes i do believe that there needs to be some regulation in industry and the market as people like you will destroy it otherwise. thats the communist model. liberals just take it a step at a time to keep us pointed in that direction. more socialism more regulation more control. no thanks. and if they do that the gubberment will have no choice but to clobber them with huge import taxes and tariffs making it completely unprofitable for them to continue and push their prices so high the market will be ripe for some new entrepreneurs to open new business to fill in the hole creating new and better paying jobs. now there ya go tbone with your absurd lack of knowledge on economics. you seem to think that companies move overseas for the sole purpose of then importing back to the usa. thats not true at all. they move and sell where the market is more profitable. it is becoming that way and that needs to be changed before our economy collapses and / or we wind up in a full blown revolution. taxing the hell out of companies is not the solution. shutting them down and taking away the very reason for their growth will not get you any gains except your own personal take that bastards pleasures. i never said otherwise but there has to be a limit on how much and how many they are willing to screw over to make it. at one time those limits were set by social values and respect for others but those qualities are all but gone in todays corporate leaders. no it wasnt. people have always invested into a company with the expectation of high returns. crush those returns and you crush the company and any chance of growth. basically you want to set a limit on returns for someones investment. are you now referring to business owners and coroprate execs lol!!! yea they make so little and give so much away. now please tell us who set and controls these bullshit market wages that you keep hiding behind. market wages are set by market supply and demand. i have asked you several times what would happen if we suddenly increased he minimum wage to $25/hr. would we no longer have poverty would everyone currently making minimum wage suddenly have more buying power if its wide scale above market value then the market will simply adjust to it and the buying power remains unchanged. if growth in the economy and the job market dont help the majority of the people in the country and only the few rich you are correct. shutting down the companies you despise wont get you anything other than personal satisfaction for sticking it to them. but that is the funny thing the reason so many are poor is because a few are so rich. no thats not the reason at all. what skilled jobs are you referring to that these poor people are working what are they earning and how much should they earn thats right which means that they will invest in small companies giving far more people the opportunity to make it which is the way it should be. no they will invest where the rate of return is maximized. if the invest in small companies those companies will become large and youll shut them down. instead investers will take their money and go elsewhere overseas etc. where the market is much larger for large scale investing without liberals who will shut it down. .

clare at snyder.on.ca wrote bryan wrote clare at snyder.on.ca wrote just for the record. believing and saying those who do not believe as you do you is wrong is not necessarily intollerance. i can dissagree with your beliefs and still respect you and tollerate you. intollerance is refusing to respect the right of someone else to be wrong. tollerance does not mean you have to adopt the thinking of those you dissagree with or compromise your own belief. if i say the bottom light of a traffic signal is green and you say it is red ill try to tell you you are mistaken but as long as you are ready and willing to stop on your green and procede on your red there is no problem and i can allow you to continue going through life believing green is red. if you continue in your belief that green is red and drive through your green lights you are intollerant because you are forcing your mistaken beliefs on the rest of the world. i agree with your analogy. however i draw the line when someone suffers from anothers beliefs being force upon the person. in your last paragraph the person has the potential to harm others with his/her belief. bryan and your possible belief that you should be allowed to do whatever you think is right at the time does not have that potential ill just pick a few hot topics - whether they are part of my belief or yours is immaterial - sexual promiscuity hetro or homo free abortion on demand the right to grow/produce/sell/consume ilicit pharmecutetcals the right to carry dangerous/offensive weapons the whole issue of divorce/family breakdown -- none of these have potential to do harm you dont live in the same world i do if you truly believe that. have you not heard of the aids epedemic ive lived in africa where it is rampant - and do you know why it is africa as a whole is the most promiscous society on earth. then they believe the way to cure aids is to have sexual relations with a virgin and the likelihood of finding a virgin of any age over 12 is getting remote in many parts of the continent. so rape in general and rape of children in particular is the growing result of those beliefs being forced on the society. no harm being done closer to home just look at the inner cities of just about anywhere in north america. family values are virtually non-existant - particularly you can check the facts - im not being discriminatory with the american urban black. the breakdown of the family unit due to the lack of a moral compass and this also leads to the lack of that moral compass is not causing harm give your head a shake. im not saying you must believe as i do --- im just saying do not discount christian values as irrelevant nonsense or whatever. following a set of rules whether you agree with them or not is not causing you any harm is it what harm is caused by living to a moral code - whether you happen to agree with it or not also - would you rather live as if a god exists and in the end find he does not or live as if he does not and in the end find that he does - and that he is a very just god no corner given - no forgiveness no allowances for doing what was right to you not that i believe in that kind of god exactly. i believe in a forgiving god - but forgiveness is on his terms - and therin comes the christian values and christian beliefs i agree with you. really i do! .

going to change the differential oil in my 98 dakota 2wd 3.9l auto. best to try to suction it out or take the cover off its best to take the cover off. that way you can get a look inside and check things out. youll need some rtv to re-seal it. if take the cover off is there enough clearance to pry it loosed over a standard oil collection pan sure - though it might be better to use a catch pan with an open top - the gear oils going to dump out pretty much all at once and the drain pans that just have the center drain hole might not drain quickly enough to prevent the gear oil from overflowing. depending on clearance you may also want to drop the spare tire. need to be lifted best tool to break the differential cover loose without doing damage a gasket scraper... therell be at least one spot where the flat part of the carrier extends beyond the lip of the cover where you can slide the gasket scraper between the two. a trick is to leave the top two bolts of the cover in place just loose very loose - thatll prevent the cover from falling when you break the rtv seal. once drained clean the cover and carrier mating surface with some brake cleaner and run a nice 1/8 bead of rtv around the perimeter of the cover going to the inside of the bolt holes. slap the cover back in place try to get it aligned the first time - dont want to be squishing the rtv back and forth too much and torque the bolts to 25 ft.lbs. in a criss-cross pattern. let it set up a bit then re-fill with gear oil and friction modifier if you have a limited slip. .

my son bought this truck a 1996 dakota/4wd/318 auto about 3 months ago and had it checked out by a mechanic who gave it a clean bill of health. he stated to me that he put the truck on the lift and pulled the truck into 4wd and all 4 wheels turned. i cannot make this thing go into 4wd nor can i ever get the 4wd light to work. the 4wd shifter seems to work very hard to me. does anyone have any ideas .
