i had a problem like that on my voyager it turned out to be some corosion on the contacts the small brass pads that contact the door and the door posts and it would keep trying to lock the door i cleaned them with some contact cleaner and it worked ok they were dull im not sure if you have them on a durango .

thanks from reading the posts this seems to be a fairly good natured group. claud ken & patricia wrote welcome aboard! youll find this group to be quite a repository of good info. ken thanks to those of you that posted i bought a 2002 1500 quad cab.it has the 4.7l with automatic. have been driving it for 2 weeks and really like it. white with leather. i feel like a got a decent deal. walked away from the truck 4 times before we shook hands. here in the atlanta area decent 2002 or 2003 4 doors were hard to come by. i will keep lurking and probably have some questions down the road. claud .
