Durango horn honks for no reason

Q: just curious what are the symptoms of bad injector/s several possibilities. sometimes the injector hold-down bolts just loosen up and this produces a knocking sound. if the injector solenoid is bad/failing this will cause misfires. if the pintle/seat experiences problems either eroding away or contaminated with debris this could cause the injector to stick open. at best this will cause fuel dilution in the oil. at worst it will turn into a blowtorch and melt down a piston. .

is compatible with transmission fluid. iirc it used to be stated that no sealant at all was to be used on the transmission pan gasket but i dont know if this is still correct. only the 45rfes call for rtv... the 4xres and 4xrhs all say gasket only no rtv. maybe thats what makes atf+4 so special... it doesnt eat rtv .

roy roy@home.net wrote weak moment maybe. while im at it how about the 03 04s any inherent problems what transmissions are used in those years my july 03 build has the 48re. i didnt have any problems with the 47re in the 99 but the 48re does feel stronger. in addition to the minor problems mentioned there is a 2k rpm vibration. polls on dtr show the 2500 swb 4wd is most likely to have the vibe. everybody does not have it. my 2wd dually w/4.10s has it. chrysler fixes are shimming and/or driveshaft replacement...steel to aluminum. the dealer has attempted to fix mine four times to no avail. first and second tries they shimmed and un-shimmed the carrier bearing. the third try they replaced both drive shafts and the u-joints. fourth try chrysler field rep drove it along with a warranty rep and the dealer service manager. field rep felt no vibe and said it was an exhaust drone. i have stock exhaust. theyre full of bs. mechanic says he still believes its driveline related since at 75 mph coasting in neutral the drone is still there but chrysler said that the dealer could not attempt to fix the vibe again. up to 65 mph the truck is smooth. above 65 i have a vibration. sucks cause i really like this one. when you make up your mind be sure to drive it a lonnnng time at highway speeds before you sign the papers. feel for the vibe to occur in the floor pan seat bottom and center armrest. pedals also. hth aw .

talked to a dealer who says now the ho is emission compliant. gotta check further. yes as of 04.5 the cummins 600 325hp/600ft.lbs. was 50-state legal. prior to that however the ho engine 305hp/555ft.lbs. was not available in ca-emissions states. that will save a road trip. looking a bit more 42kmsrp. gotta get them to sharpen the pencil. .

drgn1400@webtv.net brent d wrote here we go again with cuda. an independent that wants every one to believe their repairs are automatically cheaper than a dealers. again he provided no proof or example of this. just assumed. and your proof is where i havent seen any just a whole lot of ego stroking from you. perhaps a dealers equivalent repair may cost more because they provide things you can not. when our dealership services a transmission for x number of dollars we also update the controller with the latest software at no added cost our extra cost is from the use of oem parts that come with a nationwide warranty at any dealer to improve shift quality if any updates are available. a few posts back you admitted that you get paid extra for a re-flash so the extra cost is in there somewhere. ooops - you cant do that. you talk stupid you have no idea what i can and can not do. software updates are not reserved for the dealership only. this is one example try using an example to substantiate a claim next time instead of talking out your ass of how a dealer can offer more bang for the buck when it comes to quality. sorry brent your example falls flat on its face. times have changed since you last worked in a dealership yeah the labor times are more ridiculous and as your buddy glenn is so proud to point out the money is made with a pencil not by effecting a repair. if you ever have. yes i ever have. big whoop! youre sounding more and more like a prima donna with every post. if you havent done it in the last five years you are behind the times. you base that statement on your own narrow view which is painted by a somewhat secluded vantage point. dealer techs do provide a vast portion of feedback to dc before they release it in a tsb. you have no right to argue against this point. i wasnt arguing against it i was pointing out that not all tsbs are authored by dealership technicians some are most arent. besides you would have no way of knowing who authors a tsb since youre at the bottom rung of the ladder to begin with. i have seen dozens of times when my or other techs repairs have later resulted in tsbs and/or recalls. you might pay for tsbs - we make them happen. who is the real technician now listen up genius i have authored my share of tsbs so nothing youre crowing about here impresses me one little bit. you claim to be a technician okay heres your shot; post the methodology and calculations for determining fuel pump rpm. ooooo..... ooooooo....... oooooo can i answer that one can i...... can i can i puleeeze call on me! ;^ mike there is one problem with being an independent; win or lose - the dealer gets automatic first shot at the customer you get the left overs. yup you get first shot because the repair is supposed to cost the customer nothing. once the vehicle is out of warranty few customers return because of the way theyre treated and because they can easily find better value elsewhere. i spend an extraordinary amount of time convincing some of my customers to contact the dealership because the repair they need is covered under warranty and going there should save them hundreds of dollars very few want to go back because of how they are treated and because their previous experiences lend them to believe that the job will be done half-assed and that -is- usually the case. last week i convinced a customer to take their 2003 pontiac montana back to the selling dealer to have the leaking intake manifold gaskets replaced i even called the service manager and made sure that it would be covered and that they would only have to pay the $100 deductible the customer was treated rudely when she dropped her van off two day after it was done the ses light came on she brought it to me po440 code set purge solenoid hose left off. nice job guys that customer has real confidence in your capabilities not. one can only imagine that the mechanic who worked on that van was distracted because he was busy primping his feathers and stroking his ego because hes a big shot dealership star just like youre doing here... with warranties increasing you get to do the repair at a 33% discount in pay. sounds good to me not. and enticing customers to purchase new vehicles yup real smart the front end is competing with the back end. we have another thing you do not guaranteed work during slow times. it may not pay the best but it sure beats plopping my ass on the tool box drinking a soda - like im sure you have had to. who the hell do you think youre kidding im in and out of numerous dealerships every week ive known most of the mechanics for years worked side by side with them i hear first hand how slow things are how they run out of work by noon how their profit sharing hasnt had been contributed to by the dealer principal in years how theyre stuck doing oil changes to e

hello everyone looking for help on this if at all possible. my wifes brake warning lamp on the dashboard comes on 2000 dodge grand caravan during hard cornering or hard decelerating. this started occuring a few months ago so i replaced the pads which were low and added brake fluid which was only slightly low. after the standard repairs the light continues to come on during sharp turns most typically. the amount of brake pressure during these turns doesnt matter. if i take a hard right or left turn with only minimal brake pressure the light comes on near the end of the turn and then goes off a second later. if i come to a straight stop under light to medium deceleration the light does not come on. if i take a gentle right or left turn the light does not come on. if i come to a straight stop under heavy brake pressure the light comes on for a second. its like it goes on like the fuel warning light when the gas tank is low and the fuel slides to one end of the tank making it seem like the tank is empty. i figured it had to be the brake fluid level moving about but that doesnt seem to be the case as the fluid level is at full. any advice is appreciated. btw does sandman still frequent this joint its been a few years. thanks for any assistance. .
