by that philosophy been there tried it in the 60s didnt work its a surprise that ford trucks have ac or power steering!! what a dumb argument. which in my opinion is about the dumbest thing to come down the pike in years. ford tried it and dropped it way back in the early 60s. -- budd cochran budd cochran wrote and did he maintain them according to schedule how did he drive the vehicle lots of variables ya know. then go buy a toyota and quit whining. but if you dont grease the balljoints theyll wear too fast also. nothing to maintain the ball joints are sealed. jerry .

thanks for the tip. this may seem basic but how can you tell if its out of alignment so i can point this out in advance. not sure what i would know what to look for. soemthing you can do yourself i wonder i have a 2000 ram quad cab and i complained to the dodge dealership about the same thing. only i could plainly see both driver side doors were not aligned correctly. they replaced the seal and of course the problem persisted so i took it back and pointed it out to them again and this time they realigned the doors and the wind noise went away. ken have the common wind noise coming from the driver side door seal esp on highway. have a 2003 ram 1500 hemi. its a bit annoying. on my 1999 ram 1500 i had the same trouble cant believe they still havent fixed it! but a new seal really did nothing. is it worth taking in to get a new one has a replacement actually fixed anyones wind noise thaks todd .

i dont get it . . .its been my experience that even when properly lubed ball joints just dont last forever and commonly need normal replacement at 50-60 thousand miles. what is the problem with that people budd the ball joints on durangos were not the proper ones. mine went out at 20k and then after every 10k. any mechanic that ever dealt with them will tell you they were to weak for the weight of the automobile. dan .

From : budd cochrancbhvac

think about it dan. if that were true then you would probably have half a dozen deaths from ball joint failure at highway speeds and a recall and/or class action lawsuit going on because of the deaths it would have caused since the introduction of the vehicle. besides i believe the chassis is the same as the dakota. i think you should find another mechanic. budd dan j.s. wrote i dont get it . . .its been my experience that even when properly lubed ball joints just dont last forever and commonly need normal replacement at 50-60 thousand miles. what is the problem with that people budd the ball joints on durangos were not the proper ones. mine went out at 20k and then after every 10k. any mechanic that ever dealt with them will tell you they were to weak for the weight of the automobile. dan .

as im sure you are picking up the factory ball joints are sealed that in itself is the biggest problem. if they could be lubed i suspect they would have lasted another 15k. rec.bicycles.marketplace .

the ball joints on my dakota went bad around 25000 miles. a friend of mine had his ball joints on his dakota replaced under warrenty in the first year under 6000 miles. dodge makes great looking trucks too bad their oem parts suck. i wish i could find a truck with dodge styling and toyota quality. mine never squeaked just started making a clunking noise. you can usually grab the top of the wheel and pull out/push in and feel for slop bud the upper ball joints on the dorangos/daks are preatty weak mine started getting loose around 45k... rec.bicycles.marketplace .

45 k thats still pretty good service. on the old torsion bar suspension systems a well maintained set up uppers could go 100k no sweat. that much slop and the clunking sounds like either a lack of and/or low quality lubricants. were used. -- budd cochran mine never squeaked just started making a clunking noise. you can usually grab the top of the wheel and pull out/push in and feel for slop bud the upper ball joints on the dorangos/daks are preatty weak mine started getting loose around 45k... rec.bicycles.marketplace .

hi there.....are radar detectors allowed in montanna and south dakota states speaking in terms of anonymity if you get laser tagged and you have a detector you have an excellent chance of never being able to talk or cry your way out of a speeding ticket. unwritten rule of thumb is if you are dumb enough to think these things will save your butt and you can afford to spend money on such garbage then you can pop some dough in the courts coffer. .

between oil changes and only uses a quart about every 3000 miles even when towing the 6500 lb 5th wheel. with the new intake gasket the check engine light doesnt come on for almost 2 days. back for visit number 4.......... this time they decide its the majority of the ignition system... which i refuse to let them replace. so i got the chrysler performance cap and rotor and a new set of the really good belden wires from napa... replace them in shifts over time... cap and rotor of course causes no change - check engine still on. wires also no change - check engine still on. so just for giggles i ordered the taylor spiro-pro wires and put them on a couple weeks ago. you guessed it - no change... so truck now in for visit number five... dealer says its just number 1 thats missing today and has now decided its not plugs or wires or injectors or compression or poltergeist... they now think its a mechanical problem and are pulling the valve cover to see if they can see anything... good grief! only good thing about all this is ive gotten to drive a lot of cars im really glad i didnt buy! chevy cavalier ford focus some other noisy tinny piece of crap that i cant even remember... how many box tops do you have to send in to be a 5 star dealer . 222 267192 0%o5b.111$8o5.52371@.uswest.net im pretty sure ive seen zirk kits with a drill bit and zirks just for aftermarket uses like this. there are no plugs. ive seen what you are talking about on mid 80s ford vehicles... rec.bicycles.marketplace .
