Q: thats how they do it in my city in s. oregon. a vehicle a cant stay on the street more than 72 hours without being moved. and how would they know this. i park my car in the same spot every day and the chalk on the tires trick doesnt work either. no non-operating vehicles may be in front of the house setback for extended periods. yes you can repair your vehicle in your driveway big deal what if i have 4 or five rotting hulks in my back yard or on the sie of my house within the setback limitations. basically all it takes is a neighbors complaint a public service officer will check it out and leave a warning if the vehicle is still there 3 days later. so now a public service officer has to make at least two trips on the tax payers dime due to a complaint from what could be nothing more than a nasty neighbor. they give them 72 more hours usually longer then tow it unless there is a reasonable explanation. while it all sounds great it usually doesnt work that way. usually when there are spider webs under a car it hasnt been moved in awhile. i personally have 4 vehicles for 2 people. 2 are in the garage and the 2 in the driveway get driven every day. i shouldnt be taxed more because i have 2 classic cars in the garage. why not a person with a bigger house than you in your area pays more taxes than you do. why shouldnt a person with more cars then they need not do so as well take care of the real culprits the trailer trash mentality of the few that cause problems for the rest. because hiring the people to do it costs money and why should i have to pay for it. let the people that are the cause and potential cause of the problem pay for it. -- if at first you dont succeed youre not cut out for skydiving .
